Thrift Scores

mmmm...I never would have guessed Columbus, OH had such good thrift shops. I got an amazing grey TSE cashmere sweater today for $10 !!!! It's so warm and cozy, and would have been $400-$500 dollars retail! There was Pringle of Scotland, Manolo Blahnik, and a lot of other nice things in the store too...I'm going back there on Friday with some of my favorite friends :p

Amazing finds everyone!

I wish that I could find such fabulous things at my local thrift stores but I guess I'm going to try a little harder. :shifty:

found a Miu Miu purple sweater today but didn't get it because it was cropped and somewhat misshapen. still...Miu Miu!

Lacoste glasses: 3 e

which thrift store were you at?? I live in Cbus too...

Today I found for 3.99 a Bonnie Cashin Red rain coat with grey lining and an attached grey scarf, with the toggle closures that are also featured on my Coach bag I got for Christmas:)

i bought a pair of baby blue True Religion cords.
tag sale. 99 cents.

haven't been thrifting too much lately. i've noticed that thrift stores are pretty crowded these days, though. i wonder if it's because of the recession?

Thrift stores have always been crowded. Most people go because they can't afford anything else, not because of good deals on clothing.

that's my point. maybe there's more people who can't afford anything else these days? anyway, it was just a thought.

I got this dress for $4 last week.....score.

I absolutely love that dress! Very jealous - you got a great deal on it.

vintage blazer - 2.99

gap brown blazer with mustard lining - 6.99

bakers spectator heels - 6.99

lucky brand jeans - 6.99

oh the wonderful finds .. i don't think ill ever shop high street stores for clothes (unless i find something i really love); some are way too generic and they also look the same...

I found a Gucci purse today for 5 bucks! It's tan and has a bamboo handle. The Gucci paper stuffing (what is it??) was still inside when I opened it up, so I guess the previous owner took pretty good care of it. I love it :)

I found a matching white Prada hat and scarf set yesterday at a thrift store for $10, but because I wasn't entirely sure of its authenticity, I didn't purchase the items. Now I'm slightly regretting my decision!

^ Sorry to hear that. I too run into the same problems but it's usually online, so luckily you had it in hand.

I found a Fendi bag for only $70 at ARC Thrift Store. :buzz:
(btw, does anyone know how I can find out its actual retail price?)

One of the handles was broken, but it fixed it up nicely with some Super Glue!

It looks like brand new! I'm very impressed with my craftsmanship because gluing it together was better than giving it to someone who is an expert in leathergoods to repair it for me.

I have a love-hate relationship with thrifting. The clothing is all so compactly organized, and you have to sort through so much stuff to find a few good things. I did find an adorable romper last time I went ^_^
