Tips On How To Sneak Into The Shows...

Tavi LOL. :D
LOL You actually wouldn't believe the amount of stylists who turn up with actual babies and toddlers in a pushchair at the shows, and god save the security guard or PR who tries to make an issue of it! So I have been to many shows where you have kids sittin on the ground in front of the front row lol, best view in the house!

I've been warned not to try anything KCD touches. They are nazis. It's impossible to get into ANY of their shows unless your first name is Anna and your last name is Wintour.

this month in singapore is actually fashion week so there is a huge tent erected and brands like roberto cavalli, house of holland, dsquared are showcasing their collections along with many other brands. And Carmen Kass is here too!!!! so i decided to sneak into one of the shows, it was nervewrecking!!

I entered the main entrance and the PR people were checking the invitations, so when its my turn i told them i cant seem to get hold of my boss as her phone is not available and i need her decision on whether to rsvp to tommorrows show. so i told them to give me 5 minutes to go search for her. i ended up in the backstage taking photos with some models for about 20 minutes. I was so surprised i didnt stammer while talking to the PR people!

Wow! I admire all of you who have sneaked into the shows, wish I was that couragous!

sorry to resurect an OLD thread, but is it still easy to sneak into london shows? any tips on how i should go about doing this :S

I could never be that brave to sneak to a show that I am not invited.I'd rather get invitations from PRs - sneaking should be hard and very james bond :)

I've heard that Elie Saab is one of the easiest shows in Paris to get into.

I'm fifteen so I'm thinking I could probably pass as Harry Brant and sneak in. Even though I despise those two brats.

^ The trouble with London is that you can't even get into the Somerset House square (in which the show tents are located) without a pass (or a ticket,) I think. If you wanted to get to a show in one of the Somerset House tents, you'd need both a pass into the area and then a ticket to a show. This was what it was like last season so I'm not sure if it's changed. There was quite high security when I was there.

It posed quite a problem for adhoc street style photographers without a press pass because they can't hang around the actual tents. They stand around the arches before the entrance to the square. Hope this makes sense.

Hey guys, i need any help you can give me.
I will be in Milan during the fashion week, so desperate to get to the Versace show. Is there somebody that can help me in this way or really realistic tips?

put on a lot of color on your face...use wipes as you enter the hall, they will think you just made it from the Galliano show as a model......too bad if you are 5.7 like me....:p

Tag along with someone who does a ticket and act as their assistant.

Getting into smaller shows during NYFW

Hey am gonna be in New York during fashion week season and was wondering if there are some shows I can be able to access even the smaller shows. What's the process? thanks

If you work for press you have to do an accreditation, before the fashion week starts. NYFW will than decide if you are able to get press entrance to the shows.

If you're not working for press, most of the time you have to be on the guest list to get in. Maybe you got an invitation by the designer, label or the press agency.

If you don't have any of these mentioned things, try to run throught the gates and don't get cought by the bouncers

I think after IMG announced that it's going to be even harder for press/buyer and industry professionals, they will increase the number of security ...

Dont try and sneak into shows. Dont do it. Its frustrating for everyone else involved and its just a stupid thing.

Its not like sneaking into Disneyland. people are working and actually doing a job.

No tips. No tricks. Earn the right to be invited, you'll enjoy them more (They're not really that fun when your working anyway).

It is no longer the 80s/90s. These things don't work anymore. Fashion is a huge business. It might be easier to attend a convention at the UN than getting in a Marc Jacobs show. Though, if you have some friends working in the industry (a particular House/Brand) they might get you in the standing section.

I don't wanted anyone to try getting into shows, who is not invited, it was just a joke. I have to say I'm quite thankful I get my invitations.

But I have to say, if you don't want to get into the big FW or big shows. You can go to smaller fashion weeks like poland madrid and so on, its easier to get in, even if you have an instagram account, those designers are glad about every press they can get.

Funny how I was reading through this thread earlier today and someone joked years back about pretending to be Anna Wintour to get into a show. I stumbled into a video where the security guy at Chanel's Spring 2005 show didn't recognize her and wasn't letting her in. The look on her face is priceless.
