Toning

thanks for the excercices! and uhm...insulin spikes? i just wanna have some more muscles, don't wanna become the new stallone :p thanks anyway!
 
All an insulin spike means is that when you eat sugar it causes the insulin levels in your bloodstream to rise and it helps the protein reach your muscles.
 
it doesn't sound healthy though, but i know nothing about these things, eating sugar, you mean like really eat a lot of sugar?
 
after weight training you need about 30g of dextrose which is a form of sugar. 30g isnt a little or a lot. insulin spikes are perfectly healthy. what do you think happens when you eat ice cream or frosted flakes cereal, even potatoes etc.... now if youre sitting around doing nothing and you have constant insulin spikes yea thats bad. but after an intense workout an insulin spike with nutrients such as protein is very needed.
 
What kind of excercises do you people do to tone up your body??

Is it true that running and jogging is good for toning your tummy??

I would like to know this too. Im going on holiday in 6 weeks and I don't want to look like a blob in my bikini!
 
I dont think running tones the tummy much, it is great cardio and reduces fat over all- so you do lose wieght which may appear to be like toning, but over all for toning your stomach you need ab excrecises.
Something else that tones the body are squats... they suck- but they are really effective.
 
i love the elliptical machine, as soon as i started eating more protien i instantly saw definition in my arms and calves, and i do a lot of elliptical... swimming also if you're into that. i reccomend eating more protien in addition to your workout regimine. Good luck!

Im gonna start again tomorrow,im gonna do all the different crunches and leg raises,then im gonna do my excercise video.And im going for a bike ride later on so that should be enough excercise for that day.

And im starting swimming next week after skool,maybe 3/4 times a week so that should get me a better shape.

We started doing athletics in pe today,and the first thing we done was the 800m run around the track (4 laps).I thought ' yes this should be good'... then i could belive it... i felt like CRYING.. i got round the track once and i could not breathe and i had stitch (spellin??:huh: ),I could not believe how bad i had done... does this mean i am really unfit?? it really dissapointed me that i could hardly even do 2 laps without nearly fainting....Its so unfair :(
