Toronto Street Style

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a store that sells hightops (shoes) for men. The thing is, I'd really rather not buy Nike. Any ideas for stores that sell nice non-Nike hightops in T.O.?

Lol, I don't understand why everyone hates Toronto. It's no New York by any means but it has it's fair share of good stores. The thing with Toronto is that you need to know locations. In fact as of late I've seem some definate improvements. Just take a look at Holt Renfrew. They adopted 3.1 Philip Lim quite fast, as well their Dior, Owen, Lanvin, McQueen and etc sections have become more vast. I mean from time to time I complain about Toronto but it's not THAT bad.

^Thing is the prices for those items SUCK majorly. Factor in the 14% (soon to be 13%) tax and it's just too wild.
The word "sale" is loosely used by Holt's - I find only two or three items on sale from each collection.

Urban Outfitters has Adidas, PF Flyers, and Puma hightops. I think they also stock C Rec (but don't quote me on this.)

^ Do you have any idea if they stock more than what's on display on the wall? I've looked there before and didn't see anything I really liked. That was a few months ago, though...

EDIT: fashion_boi_01, I'm digging your style diary =)

No, I don't think so.
You could order from the website though. (They ship within Canada.)

Sounds good, thanks! Also, do you happen to know of any independent stores in Toronto that would be good for hightops?

Try Queen St West and Richmond - they have a lot of 'hip' shops there with good sneaker variety: Delphic, Da Zone, Goodfoot, Nomad, Stolen Riches.

Yeah prices are ridiculous, but after awhile you just get used to being ripped off.

If you had to eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spaghetti with tomato sauce because I like the taste of it and it’s my favorite.

If you had to give up one of your 5 senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch, which would it be and why?
Smell, because I can get by with the other senses the best.

Which X-Men character would you be and why?
Wolverine, because he has nice nails.

Nice thread. my obsession right now is ruby red mary janes. Does anyone know where I can find a pair in the city? i've been looking forever!

Hello again. This may be slightly off topic but I am looking to promote Canadian Designers and retailers through my website www.TheCheapGirl.com. Can someone suggest designers or stores that I can contact? Big or small, all are welcome. It's all about promoting Canadian talent. Thanks everyone! Much appreciated!

xoxo

I'm moving to Toronto at the end of august!
Going to Virgin Fest in September! I'm so excited. I'm always admiring Glasto and Leeds fest pics on here so I totally hope it rains so I can wear short shorts and rubber boots lol. Its a fantasy of mine. haha
Is anyone here going or has gone? I need to make sure I have to eyesight to the Foo <3

Is there a website for TO streetstyle? I'm in Toronto till thursday and I'm not really impressed yet. its like you'll only find about 2 well dressed people every 5 blocks or so... And I'm pretty sure the ones that I saw were models (go figure). It's a nice city... im not sure if I could ever live here though.. :( but on the brighter side canadians are pretty awesome! :D

^thanks! yeah i've only been here for a week so maybe im jumping to conclusions haha. but next time I come i'll stay longer and explore more.

You do need to explore Toronto . I used to go for Visits and sometimes I would be so down because it was not exciting. And then I would pass a cool looking area and plan another visit to go explore somemore.
I love how diverse it is <3
