Wow this is a timely thread. I bought a Yohji Yamamoto trench coat and haven't worn it outside my apartment. It's really amazing with an oversized shape, and controlled volume. The only problem is I'm 5'6'' and dont' want to look like I'm swimming in my father's coat. Is it proper to have coats taken up in the hem ? I've always heard it was a bad idea for blazers. The hem is also longer in the back than the front.
I have been looking for a PERFECT trench coat for the past year, I never liked them before, so I didnt bother looking. Now that I want one, I cant find one that I like. I would (in a perfect world) want a Burberry one. Mostly because their colors arent too yellow, and they're nice and yummy warm inside. I want it to be practical, not just cute. Do any of you guys have pictures of trenches you own and wear, just so I can get an idea?
I personally LOVE them, even though I don't own one, it's hard to find ones for guys. I only really like beige ones. I love ones with buttons and belts and pockets and stuff. I HATE trenches without belts!
The sleeves look suspiciously short on the first, and I'd want to see the reverse of the second one before I'd buy it. Looks as though it has a bustle of some kind...
