Trends You Are Sick Of #2

When someone says vintage to me, it conjours up images of little tea dresses, victoriana and Vionnet gowns. Not a violently printed top found in the bargain bin of a charity shop - I'm all for thrifting, but just because it's second hand doesn't mean its vintage - just cheap!

People at my school say "vintage" because "thrifted" or "Goodwill" is seen as tacky. It isn't even semi-vintage a lot of the time -- it's like 5 years old. When someone asks me, I say "thrifted" or "Goodwill" because I don't own anything old enough and exquisite enough that I feel deserves the title "vintage."

And kaygilbert, I totally agree. A T-shirt is a T-shirt is a T-shirt, even if Alexander Wang's name is stamped on it. Cotton is cotton is cotton -- it's absolutely ridiculous to pay $50 or more for the same thing you get in a Hanes pack of three for $5.

^ I agree, it is crazy to spend alot of money on plain t-shirts just because they are designer. I could never see myself doing that. I mean, really, who is going to know that it is an Alexander Wang t-shirt.

I also wish those all those plaid shirts in bright colors would go away

I loathe denim on denim trend! apparently its still going strong here, in Moscow, Russia. It annoys me. Denim jacket and jeans combo is NOT cool! they look like they fell out of 2001 or something

When I lived in Thailand a few years ago, there were a tonne of Russians living there and they all wore denim on denim

When guys try to look ironic. Those terrible button up shirts and skinny jeans and tiny fedoras are really dumb. High waisted tight pants on women are hideous, and I want poofy miniskirts to go away please.

I hate it when people look too fashiony or trendy. Does that make sense? Like when they try to show fashionistas on tv shows such as Ugly Betty, mtv...etc, they look like characters rather than people. I guess style/accessories overload.

I know a lot of you said Uggs, but in defense to Uggs, they're actually kind of cute. And very cozy.

As for trends I'm sick of, plaid anything. I can't go anywhere to find a classy button-down because they have all been replaced with plaid button-downs.

Too true for words. I'll always see a trend I personally don't find pleasing on just about anybody but I've seen an poetry length of trends written here in a single post and wounder what exactly do you possibly wear? Honestly, some ~trends~ just look good on people, no need get a sour mouth over it.

It's clothing, have fun with it, don't take it too seriously

Denim on denim is also bad - I'm not sure whether it's worse when the two pieces are in the same shade of denim or matching. Urrgh.

Seriously? Wow, I mean I know it's popular and all but as tattoos? Though I can imagine a lot of the collage guys having Megan Fox somewhere on themselves

^^^ as if! thats just crazy- i think the worst i've seen is an arsenal tattoo, the football team.. i mean, i think football is dumb anyway but to actually get a tattoo of your team.. thats what the shirts are for :/ and i know what jacque marcel means about being "too trendy" ..in fact i hate even being called "fashiony" now because silly girls wearing jeggings and long cardigans and "the aggy crop" have given it a terrible name. rant over.
