Trends You Are Sick Of...

I love wedge type of shoes, their more comfortable than wearing heels, what I don't like is that huge chunk of heels (block type of heels), I mean, why wear a stiletto with that kind of heels?
I do like wedges! It's those chunky rubbery soles I mean... like

Oh, leave it to me to dislike the "man-bun." ...and most other small bun hair designs. I've never liked buns all that much to begin with, except for maybe some big bun hairstyles. I surely loathe most bun hairstyles. If you disagree, that's just too doggone bad; but especially these micro bun hairstyles need to go and never come back. And yes- the "man bun" is just terrible.

Gym wear

Wondering when we're going to get over this long and tired running trend/fashion of wearing Lycra/Spandex gym wear as day wear. Even people going out at night (including guys though rare) wearing lycra tights. Yes sometimes they (tights) can look good under a skirt sometimes. But to go out for the day and see nothing but an army of people young and old in the same clothes is just so irksome.

What's the term for that? " Atheleisure" I think ... or does that just apply to the higher end, designer stuff?

And although I don't love it (in most cases) I think it's here to stay ...it's more than a trend or a fad. I think there are several reasons for this:

1. It's now considered chic to work out. Wearing athletic clothes lets everyone know that you are coming or going to the gym (even if you are not).
2. It's really comfortable and easy to care for ... no fuss, no muss.
3. It's soooo popular that we are seeing references to workout wear in many high end designer lines.

All of that tells me that it's more than a trend ... it's become as ubiquitous as jeans.

Yeah ... tights with every thing is getting old, just says lazy to me. However, some creative people can make it look pretty cool .... if done right.

It is also much more comfortable to sit on your bed and play xbox in yoga pants, compared to jeans. #sportychic

lol

I've never been a big fan of the bun either... I can see a nice well put together bun go with certain looks.. but the ''big/mini/messy bun on top of the head'' makes people look crazy to me.

I can still appreciate a man-bun when attached to a handsome man's head, but yeah, it's getting old...

For the most part, I don`t have a problem with tights/yoga pants as long as people control their camel toe :ninja: But I agree with you, Mel99 and BetteT. It's not very interesting to look at and I certainly wouldn't refer to it as 'style' ...but it sure is trendy nowadays and doesn't seem like it's about to go away.

Well, I stubbornly cling to hope (pun intended) that "athleisure" will die. It's been a pet peeve of mine for years!

Not sure how widespread this trend is, but I am sick of seeing people (mostly women, but some men too) dressed in head-to-toe lululemon gear. And they are not all on their way to or from yoga class.

Yes, you are fit and care about your body, your skintight sweatpants show that clearly, but you are still walking around in workout clothes. Just like twenty other women (and men) on this street. Please go get dressed.

Sitting at home and playing Xbox is another matter, entirely. You are in your own home. :D

I live in Sydney and we now have what some of the radio jocks call an 'active wear' army. While yes a lot of women are actually out jogging, or doing sets in the park somewhere (another thing that irritates me); most of them are not. The worst offenders are those still wearing their tights as the only outerwear for their lower half and they are so threadbare as to be offensive. One woman I saw just the other day in the Supermarket should have been hauled in for inappropriate public display. I think she was going commando because there was absolutely nothing left to the imagination. :o

Time to be a hater...

* Recent chatter to this thread entails trying to make activewear chic. Well while I have never been much into sneakers, but I guess I am rather sick of seeing sneakers as chic shoes. I'll tell you whether in this post or in any of my blog posts that the wrong pair of shoes can kill any outfit. Even if you try to intentionally downplay a cute or semi-formal outfit with sneakers, you run the risk of making the entire outfit a lost cause. You don't want that, do you? For example, while I haven't been fond of pencil skirts, I've seen even pencil skirts paired with sneakers. That combination works like oil and water. So don't be so reluctant to pair what looks to be a perfectly fine outfit with a pair of Converses or New Balances. I guess an acceptable pair or sneakers to pair outfits with are the old Keds Champion sneakers, but that's about it. I don't outright hate this styling trend, but I am slightly tired of and don't really like this styling exercise.

* All micro-bun hairstyles including "man-buns" got to go. Others may like them, but I don't. Those buns should be burned or chopped off. Please- no more. Or if you are going to go with bun hairstyles, go with larger and more voluminous buns.

* The novelty of coffee and pizza have worn off severely. Neither are funny or cool anymore- just like the whole "I woke up like this" deal. Sure, I love me some pizza myself- cheese, pepperoni, and chicken; but it doesn't mean I am wanting to see or wear clothing making mention to such stuff. The novelty is dead.

And so there you go.

oh yes sneakers! I am so over them. although it can look quiet nice to wear a dress with white sneakers, most of them times it doesn't. sneakers are just clumpy.
Also I am over convers.

I like yoga pants, but they should be worn right. like no camel toe and no drawers-boarders. and also please not under a pretty dress. I hate when I see people wearing the most fanciest dresses with leggings/yoga pants instead of tights. or black leggings and black socks, but a gap in-between. whyyy

sneakers= sports and that's it as far as I am concerned.

cut off shorts, are we over those? More so pubescent girls wearing them with their butt hanging out? :o

another trend I am sick of: Butts hanging out

amen to that sister. Can we mention teens (under 16) who should be thinking of other things, rather than wearing crop tops so low their girlies are threatening to jump right out at any moment. Still, they're not getting a lot of role models in that department. While I admit to have shown a little more boobery that I should on rare occasions, that has been a fashionable statement; not going to the footy.....

I am not really into oxfords or brogues. I have somewhat come around on brogues, but still not mostly a fan of such shoes. Having said all of this... metallic oxfords aren't to my liking all that much. I've seen lots of metallic oxfords ranging from bloggers to LOOKBOOK personalities. I don't like oxford shoes all that much, and I am not as excited over metallic oxfords. If I'm supposed to be excited or supposed to care, I'm sorry.
