I just personally don't think that sumone should spend their pocket money on a $50 Ramones band T-shirt just because everyone else is doing it. It should be abt the music, not just the trend.

It makes me sad to hear The Ramones associated with emo posers/whatever :(. They've rocked my socks for ages, and seeing everyone with their Ramones shirts makes me sad. Sure, I've got the shirt. I've also got the locket, most of their albums downloaded, two of the badges, the anthology, the best of the chrysalis years and the bag with lyrics doodled on :innocent:

please say that none of you did the chav look ever in your lifetime???!?!?!:lol::lol:

Wow..being a poor college student has it's perks. I couldn't really afford to "buy" into these trends. Most "trends" are super high priced, because they're "of the moment" I always waited for sales..and was forced to make safer, more versatile decisions.

In year 5 I had a spiked fringe and a mullet :P
Acid wash/stonewash/patterned denim (as a kid in the '80s)
Peasant skirts
Coloured Docs (mine were green)
Flannies (worn at various times in years 7-9)
Hippie phase (year 8)- hair parted down the middle, unflattering tops and pants, nasty looking jewellery.
Skirts over pants
Buying petticoats from the opshops and wearing them as dresses and over trousers (year 12, continued for quite a few years after that)

Arrrgh, first post and how embarrassing are all the things in it!!!

^ been there done that Joie...! :flower: Welcome to tFS btwn...!

other "trends" i regret trying... well it's not really regret because i don't have any, i just see it as a funny phase:

1) brown dreadlocks, vintage scarves, hippie phase

2) black hair with blue undertone, shaved half of my head to make a sort of mohawk style hairdo... punk...! :mowhawk: + lots of studs and lots of patches + ripped raw denim, ripped clothes....

to be honest, my style is still described as punk, but i've toned it down a lot...

too small tops
everything H&M
red hair (not when it became hugely popular, but when I was 12; almost everyone of these I attempted when I was 11-13)
Goth
too much make-up
"wh*re"
miniskirts
Kate Moss

red hair

HUGE platforms -- making me look like lil brats

dark lipliner with a "lighter" lipstick ( i cant believe i'm sayin this :ninja: )

Purple and black stretchy-wool armbands a la Avril Lavigne... I thought I was the biz.

^ yes, what a nightmare.....!

The fashion of spring/summer 2002 was VERY boring. Too innocent, too white.

Thank god, I didn't wear that kind of stuff.

Personally, I regret wearing platform boots, and my fluor pink legging (almost glow in the dark...) which I bought in the early nineties. I was about nine, ten years old, had extremely thin legs, and I liked that horrible piece of crap.

In sixth grade the trend was to wear thick white eyeliner. Ick. :X
In seventh and eight grade all I wore were those cheesey Princess shirts, and shirts from Aeropostale that had like Monkeys and bunnies on them. :X
In ninth grade, I wore cartoon character shirts, like Mighty Mouse, Strawberry Shortcake, etc. With dark jeans and converse. I had like 7 pairs of them. One pair had FLAMES on them. HOW dumb?! (My friend had a pair that looked like American flags. How...patriotic...? @_@)

talking of bad mistakes using white- tight white trousers, fine in the city (i suppose) but if you live closer to cows than people as i do you constantly had trousers going white to brown-lovely!
