Trends you regret trying

Yeah, I thougt that the boho trend was the ultimate spring/summer 2002-hype.

I was happy that it was gone (I've never bought it, I felt like a Holly Hobby doll in it), but it's back. But to be honest, I like the new version better than the 2002-version. Because it looks less sweet.

About Oilily: Their childrens perfume is wonderful, I still use it when I can find a place to buy it!

I think the 90's are a lot worse than the 80's! FidoDido T-shirts, fluffy hair and Beverly Hills 90210-outfits..

I just remembered a truly terrifying time in fashion history and so I had to bring this post back!I don't really regret anything I've worn, because I'm the sort of person who'll try anything. But there are some things I will never ever revisit, and perhaps never mention again, as they are truly terrible....

1. huge, huge wide leg jeans. Anyone remember Jnco? ahhh!
2. Big clunky Dr. Martin sandals that I shouldn't have been wearing in the first place on my skinny narrow feet.... with white socks. Oh yes, they doubled as a winter shoe where I lived.

Oh my god, the things I wore when I was 13...

Hmmm.. Lets see.

I had a Puma track suit, like, 4 years ago. Black & cream, velour. I was only 12 though so i thought i looked retro, with that and my puma shoes. Don't get me wrong, i love puma, but that is too much.

Lets see... before that, baggy pants. yuck. A couldnt let that one go. I was wearing slightly baggy jeans probably, 2-3 years ago too, so almost all my jeans from that era are faded horribly at the bottom, from where they scraped against the ground.

oh, lol... & tomagotchi, i did that too... I wonder where mine is...

I was reading this topic, and thought: I have something nice for you... So I registered.

Last year, I've made some fashion collages (I'm the webmistress of a Dutch nineties-site). Most of all is the usual daily stuff from back in the days, not the runway type of clothes. Wanna see all the horrible nineties stuff? :p

I can't post the collages in the usual way, because they are fááááár too big. And about spamming... All text on my site is written in Dutch, and almost nobody here can understand it.

Anyway: Click and have fun!

omg hahahaha did anyone notice the huge change from 94 to 95? it suddenly got all sl*tty

Definately my Dockers platform shoes, black. So fugly.

A hemmed baggy men's jeans from H&M, the crotch is just too long for me and it makes me look stumpier than usual... a bad buy.

The brown potato bag dress my mum made me wear for one birthday back when I was like 12... I looked horrible. It was her dress. Bah.

I have no fashion regrets :ninja:

I remember in the 4th grade I had these bright navy bell-bottoms (that my mom later cut off to make gauchos for my sister--thus I cannot get excited about the culotte trend, I remember it too well). They were I think polyester faille with this very narrow/subtle horizontal ribbing, and I got so many compliments on them! :p

I've never worn Units, Birkenstocks, or Doc Martens. I've never had a blatantly logoed bag. Otherwise those might be regrets :D

How stylish is that!?

- Cross Colours clothing (all sorts of bright colored urbanwear)
- FUBU clothing *SMH* what was I thinking?
- Wearing scrunch socks and wearing various pairs for the colors I was wearing (an outfit with blue, red, green, and white in it....well I wore it with layering socks...goddamn, that's horrible!)
- Blossom hat...so damn embarrasing...
- Those dresses with a t-shirt underneath...remember those?
- Jelly sandals....they came back when I was in 6th grade....
- Bodysuits (the tops that had the snaps at the crotch...) with baggy jeans and a flannel jacket with dark *** lipstick and hair slicked down with gel and water....OMG....

God that was horrible....I'm embarassed as hell now....

Those juicy tube dresses. I can't believe I wore that out. I still have it, and use it when I get out of the shower.

- Tweed jacket. It was black, and pink, and grayish... ugh.
- One set of pearls would have been fine, but I was piling on the pearls, and necklaces, going for a "layered" type of look... it was really too much.

Hahaha. I bought one, but I just wear it around the apartment. Never out, ever.

Long sweater coats/jackets. I wore those a few times in high school, in fact, I wore them before they became popular, but still...

- bell-bottoms
- baggy pants
- fishnet tank tops eww
- studded bracelets
- studded jackets

i used to be so way over the top with studs.

My first post ;o)
-everything with a yellow smiley face, t-shirts, shorts, earrings.. ugh!!
-Baggy oversized t-shirts with spandex shorts
-wearing 2 pairs of socks at a time, in different colors with the outside pair rolled down
-Wide leg Jnco jeans
(all around the same time, early 90s) how embarassing to think about it!

I tried the grunge look at one time in my life. It was really embarassing because I looked homeless, and it wasn't even in style in 2003. I guess I didn't care about fashion then, but I looked awful.

Oh god, Jnco's....I remember those days well. That was back before I learned that 33" wide pantlegs only serve to make you look like a fat little troll.

When I was about 11 or so, I wore a pair of Baby Spice-esque white platform sneakers that were about 5" high constantly... ick.
