Trunk show TFS gathering, are you in?

I hope that it is the first thread for this topic.

We often times receive trunk show invitations and I wonder if people here are up for sharing trunk show information and even better, going together and have a good time!

*to the ones who do not know the term, trunk shows are generally held by boutiques or department stores to present and promote coming collections. They normally take pre-orders that often times require a deposit. *

i think it's a really nice idea and i have done this with luckyme
we went to the Dries trunk show together last season..

but to be honest...
i do not really care for trunk shows..
and i especially do not care for the customer service at Barney's trunk shows...

^ I don't care for Barney's customer service, period. But I've never been to a trunk show, Barney's or any other company, so I can't speak for that particular service.

caffine- maybe ill come- even though i pre-ordered 5 pieces already from sthe spring collection from bergdorf ( I think the service is better there) but it would be fun to meet up with other TFS'rs!!

I only go to Barneys for trunk shows to look at the clothes. I also had very bad experience with their pre-order system so I no longer bother. Yes I think that Bergdorf has better service, too.
The nice thing is that Bergdorf usually have trunk shows at lunch time, but Barneys' trunk shows are normally after work hours. It works better for me

for the ones who don't know, Barneys will take your order, charge 50% deposit, but never calls you......

Nothing happened, that's the problem. My mother and I were in the store for over 25 minutes, and not once did an employee come up and greet us or ask if we needed help. It's not like they were busy, either; most of them were just sitting around, watching us like hawks.

It doesn't sound very bad typed out, but really I just felt very unwelcome.

barneys nyc is horrible too..service is horrible..i remember a few weeks ago, hubby and i were shopping there, i saw a dress i wanted to try, no oe was there to help, i took it myself and tried it, great, went to the cashier- she was busy TRYING ON a jacket for herself and checking herself out in the mirror with another customer, i left the dress and walked out....she def saw me and ddint do anything!

Well at Barneys at least they have models to show them. I found that nice. Also the crowd there is more fashion forward in general. I normally attend just to have a good time there. People watching is fun!

Their sales typically leave you alone. I actually like that. But you are right, some don't even seem to care about their jobs.

I find the SAs at Barneys either waaaay too oppressively attentive or completely ignore me with a 'better than thou' attitude. I'll ask if they have something left in another size and they'll say no, but then I'll find it in the changing room. Or I'll have hordes of them coming to me and introducing themselves and trying to coerce me into a changing room the second I touch an item of clothing.

I would go Caffiene, I like to go just to see what the new season will look and feel like up close so when I see it afar I have something to refer to. besides it is a fun day with friends...but I've learned not to place an order that day. I can't get to the city on tuesday, but as you hear about trunk shows please keep them posted here.

Oh btw I'd be keen to go to the Lanvin one at Barneys. But I'm only in NYC for a couple of weeks more so I won't be able to make an order... does this matter? I haven't RSVP'd yet, I suppose it might be a bit late now

im not planning on ordering anything from the trunk show, i already pre-reserved what i wanted from bergdorfs (they are getting most of the looks!!), but its nice to go and see them, touch them- so you should come!!!

I guess that Vogue sponsored it? (does that mean free drinks? )
