On one hand I'm extremely impatient and part of me is absolutely dying to see this, but on the other had, you can't rush something like this, otherwise it will end up like Blood and Chocolate on the big screen and oh my GOSH that was a terrible film, but a really wonderful book.

They've already ruined Edward in my mind and even though I like Kristen... I'm still quite indecisive about that.

So they better cast a good Jacob Black. Please let the casting be done right! Oh, one can only hope!

see... if someone could photoshop him and make him actually look good, then just imagine what the wonderful makeup artists and graphics people that work on the movie can do !

it seems like everyone is so set on him sucking so bad. personally, i think he's going to do okay.

everyones vision of Edward is different, some people find him perfect, others dont. I dont think he's perfect, but then again no body can actually be that perfect...

so i think we just need to stop with all the negative pouting about him not being the perfect edward, and concentrate on how he actually acts... I'm sure the poeple working the cotumes and makeup will do everything possible and give him the Edward image, but when it comes down it, his acting is kind of more important then the look. He has to actually PLAY the character, not just look like him.

All this talk about Robert being rubbish remind me of the whole uproar when Daniel Craig was announced as announced as James Bond. He turned out to be the best Bond in ages.
If the role was only a question of looks, they would have casted a male model. Can people please wait until at least the trailer before writing him off?
Robert managed to come of as a good and charismatic (not to mention good looking, imo) actor in HP, while hardly none of the other young actors did, even with more screen time. It says much about him, imo.
But then, the target audience for Twilight is quite young and is more likely to be fixated on looks than acting chops.

and if he wasnt a good enough actor, and they didnt feel confident that he could play Edward, he wouldnt have been casted...

Well, I don't think Robert is rubbish, I've seen him in a couple of things & he's quite good, however, to say image & looks arent important is a lie. The whole damn entertainment business is about looks, this isnt the novel anymore so physical appearance counts quite a lot.

I agree that in my head, Edward is perfect & Robert ticks none of his boxes physically but this a movie, so what do you expect? I guess I'll say I'm disappointed but I can't judge until I see the final result.

And, the audience arent just young people, I'll wager that it's not just twelve & thirteen year olds who are looking forward to it

^i'm 17 too and i'll be seeing it also.

although i probably won't enjoy it as much if Edward isn't done well. I think Kristin will be great though.
