i was basically the freakin leader of the ugg-hating fan club for the past year. i'm talking major cringing when i ever i saw someone wearing them - especially pink or purple uggs with a mini. and then yesterday just for kicks i tried on a pair when i was shopping with my sis...guys, they are so unbelievably comfortable!! i now understand why people wear them now. (aside from annoying trendy chicks who overdo every trend- they're still dumb) in the icy cold toronto winters that we get here i won't knock anyone wearing them at all. actually i was going to get a pair myself and my sister had to drag me out of the store.

...it's still mighty possible that i might get a pair real soon. ugh...i feel like such a hypocrite LOL

so basically, the boots themselves are ugly and very out but i think it just comes down to the classic question - fashion or comfort?

Its ok lol. Ive been there those girls wearing them with mini skirt in hot weather made me hate them too.
If you dont live in a cold climate why they heck are you wearing something like that? lol
Anyways... I say COMFORT & WARMTH over fashion. I dont care if they are out or not. Im actually happy they are out because people wont think Im following a silly trend & actually think Im wearing them for function because its cooooooooooold outside.

You NEED to go back to that store & GET a pair.

Do your feet not get wet in the snow/ rain wearing them? Or do you guys use waterproofing spray on them?

I also used to hate them but it's so damn cold here that I'm starting to come around. Plus, my friend is off to Oz for Christmas and can get me a pair at a reasonable price (i.e. NOT €220 ($340) like they are here!!)

I think there are worse things in the world to put on your feet....

I have a pair of the classic tall and they save my life here in the winter. Our campus is very big so I walk miles each day and in the cold, UGGS are a lifesaver. They might not be instyle, but it beats cold feet and getting sick. Plus, they're so comfy sometimes they're nice to just wear around to give your feet a nice break!

Uggs are to keep warm rather than some sort of fashion statement. They are perfect for going to yoga in the winter.

Ditto. People tend to get a little overboard and add on accessories or a bad fitting pair of jeans.

that is too funny. they are just soooo comfortable. that's why i own a pair.

I need your opinion, do you girls think I could fit into a Size 5 for UGG kids? I usually wear a size 6.5

you will definitely be able to fit into a kids size 5. maybe even a 4. but i would
say if you're closer to a 6.5-7, go with the kids size 4.

i'm a size 5-5.5, and i got a kids size 3, it's just a perfect fit on me. they look exactly the same as the womens size, but like 40 dollars cheaper!

Hahhaa!!! ME TOO!!!! I didn't even buy them - my mom had gotten a pair of LL Bean ones that she had never worn and asked if I wanted them. It KILLS me to admit this but I have been wearing them and they feel SO GREAT! I'll never wear them with a mini though. If it's cold enough to wear them, it's too cold for a very short skirt.

These are definitely better quality than Ugg brand BTW, especially the soles.

I think the quality of Uggs went downhill alot after they became so trendy.
I bought new ones for this winter and they just aren't what they used to be.

i'm not the only one! yay! i still haven't gotten a pair though, i'm holding out to see if i've really changed my ugg-hating ways or if this is just a phase lol.

one question about the uggs though - don't they get wet when you're walking in the snow or rain?

Why would surfers need uggs?

Chanel -- I've looked for alternatives for a long time, and haven't found anything. Gucci, jimmy choo, and some other designers have some sheepskin boots that would prabably just as warm and comfy, but I personally wouldn't pay $800+ for strictly comfort boots.

Make sure you are ordering a youth & not a childs/kids size. QVCs are child/kids size not youth size.
