Why would surfers need uggs?

Chanel -- I've looked for alternatives for a long time, and haven't found anything. Gucci, jimmy choo, and some other designers have some sheepskin boots that would prabably just as warm and comfy, but I personally wouldn't pay $800+ for strictly comfort boots.

uggs were originally made for surfers... they're perfect to pull on cold feet when you get out of cold early morning water, and this was the original idea in australia. besides, they're not just for keeping feet warm in cold weather, they're also for keeping feet cool (or body temp) in warm weather. (although this could be disputable)

this thread is funny to me.

I was shopping the other day and saw a display of Uggs, and thought maybe I should try them on, because I am looking for comfortable, warm boots that don't look absolutely 100% hideous (Toronto winters are already killing me, I am not looking forward to January/February). I didn't end up trying them on because I just couldn't quite bring myself to admit that they are alright. From what I have seen everywhere for winter boots though, I'm probably going to end up with a pair. I guess I'll find out what all the hype is about.

But as many of you have said, not with mini skirts!!! that's just the last straw to me.

Good question! I need some shoes for winter but I'm sick of all those UGGs (and Muks too). I love them, yes, but I now all those little girlies wear them in pink or baby blue and so CAN'T wear them anymore.Altough I think they're hot on Sienna and Co.

In because of warmth. If they had a nicer version (not as bulky) then I'd be all over them. I can't picture myself in them with jeans. I've tried the classic ones on makes me feel like a robot. And I can't stand it when the trend followers wear UGG boots are OVER the jeans, uhh? please no.

Who the heck cares in they are in or not. If you want warm comfy feet & you like them then by all means WEAR THEM!! Thats how I feel anyways... I want to be warm. I dont care if they are ugly or in style or if Im the only person in the world wearing them.
