If your embarrassed, just wear them around the house, they techincally are slippers that what they were origionally made for.

Yeah but the *most* unfortunate thing about uggs being in fashion is that in America, the brand of choice is an American brand rather confusingly branded UGG AUSTRALIA (made in China, not sold in NZ or Australia). Can you imagine the protests if Nike decided to change its brand name to SNEAKERS AMERICA?

i have the same furry ugg-type boots that Carrie wore in SATC... seeing as how i live in oregon (not exactly the fashion capital of.. anything), do you think i could get away with wearing them again this winter, or should i just chuck them?

Seriously. I'm sick of not only them, but reading about them. Yes they're definately going to be a trend this year because lower end stores are starting to really push them and they're super widely available now (the knockoffs)

I take it you aren't a fan of the Uggs, Juicy top, Seven jeans or some kind of mini skirt, and LV bag look that seems quite popular these days. I was in a L.A. mall earlier this year and literally saw about 60 girls with this exact look.
