I thought I would regret canceling the subscription I had to Elle (after almost 8 years of readership) but this issue seems to confirm why I cancelled it. For one, I cannot stand Miley Cyrus and I couldn't care less what she wants to voice to this magazine. She's not even relevant here in the UK. The images that took 10 hours to produce seem to only have taken all of an hour to shoot. They're basic and straightforward, nothing flash and Miley's suggested energetic personality has brought nothing to the table. She doesn't take a decent picture when looking into the lens, I think. The profile shots are the best ones.
As I have mentioned on numerous occasions since their March issue, I think the cover design still needs a mountain of work. Their font and text placement is all over the place, very unattractive and dated. Elle's covers from 2004 are more desirable now, than this. As honeycombchild mentioned, this looks even worse on the newsstands. I'm sure something comes free with the issue, so I guess that'll be a selling point for most.
