UK Vogue July 2020 by Jamie Hawkesworth

What a FANTASTIC cover! Wow.
This just shows we honestly don't need any of todays working models.

Love these! Finally, a magazine that got it 100% right.

I will be looking out for the first one, in particular.

Not gonna lie, this isn't something I expect or want from Vogue. I'll never understand the need to put regular people on the cover of fashion's most important publication. Naturally, I respect the message and the story but it's always going to be a no for me.

However, the portraits of Narguis Horsford and Anisa Omar are absolutely stunning. They actually look like they could be a part of fashion editorial, but the third one was unnecessary.

The very first cover is stunning. Horsford's profile and the colours give it a lot of weight.
Jamie didn't even bother with Millar's cover, and the 3rd one looks too styled for what appeared to have been real and unrehearsed portraits. Will I rush to get it? Maybe not. The content will have to determine how much I want it.

Sadly these covers come at a time when everyone is slowly getting on with their lives to the point where people are starting to ask if they should continue to clap for the NHS. This should have been a June cover. Like Anna Wintour once said: 'It's always about timing. If it's too soon, no one understands. If it's too late, everyone's forgotten.' And I don't mean to say people will have forgotten about the virus by now.

Can we at least get nurse-themed fashion editorials? Why so literal?

It's far from over and given how lackluster our lockdown was - and still is - don't be surprised to see another second wave after all the trips to the beach. THEN the cover will be relevant again.

The 1st and 3rd covers are very powerful, specially now besides covid.

I disagree, these 3 covers are all recognizing the essential services we have relied on VERY HEAVILY during the pandemic, being that Anisa works in a supermarket which has basically put her at risk during the pandemic from day one and she is equally deserving of her own cover and the unfortunate part is that people working in commercial (or general) grocery stores will never get the wages they’re entitled to, they are true heroes of COVID-19 alongside healthcare workers, LTC workers, and transit workers.

update: sorry aracic! I thought you were referring to Anisa’a cover but you actually meant Rachel’s cover, but regardless, they are all necessary to recognize!

So, besides @aracic, no one dares to say that they do not see any suit of clothes on this "Emperor"... Interesting.

It’s typical Edward at this point. Why bother calling him out every single time: It’s a broken record… He’s the most blatantly opportunistic, mass-gravelling and self-congratulating editor out there. This brand of calculating, emotionally-manipulative and shallow SM-pleasing trope will get the sheeple championing his Vogue— and more importantly for him, move him that much closer to Anna’s throne. Because it’s not enough we respect and treat all people with sincerity and consideration every day of our lives: We have to put them on the cover of a fashion rag to prove it. It’s the current mentality that unless you post all your humanitarian/social/political contributions on SM, then you didn’t do anything worthwhile. The man knows how to market with the least amount of creative effort— if any at all, to reap the most financial benefits and to optimize his own profile.

(Thought Narguis was Roshumba. She looks good…)

They should've rushed this through for June issue.
Grazia did this idea first yet Edward will get all the triumph and glory.
