It's far from over and given how lackluster our lockdown was - and still is - don't be surprised to see another second wave after all the trips to the beach. THEN the cover will be relevant again. The very first cover is stunning. Horsford's profile and the colours give it a lot of weight.
Jamie didn't even bother with Millar's cover, and the 3rd one looks too styled for what appeared to have been real and unrehearsed portraits. Will I rush to get it? Maybe not. The content will have to determine how much I want it.
Sadly these covers come at a time when everyone is slowly getting on with their lives to the point where people are starting to ask if they should continue to clap for the NHS. This should have been a June cover. Like Anna Wintour once said: 'It's always about timing. If it's too soon, no one understands. If it's too late, everyone's forgotten.' And I don't mean to say people will have forgotten about the virus by now.
.... given how lackluster our lockdown was - and still is....
Not gonna lie, this isn't something I expect or want from Vogue. I'll never understand the need to put regular people on the cover of fashion's most important important publication. Naturally, I respect the message and the story but it's always going to be a no for me.
However, the portraits of Narguis Horsford and Anisa Omar are absolutely stunning. They actually look like they could be a part of fashion editorial, but the third one was unnecessary.
So, besides @aracic, no one dares to say that they do not see any suit of clothes on this "Emperor"... Interesting.
