UK Vogue March 2012 : Lana Del Rey by Mario Testino

Interesting to notice 'Oh so pretty' as a cover line, as have British Elle, used the same one.

This doesn't exactly scream March, I cannot get away with Lana's face. I'm certain a specific angle is what Lana requires, to seem less awkward than usual. She always appears to be miserable or depressed. Maybes due to those horrendous music reviews.

boring cover. only thing that excites me about this issue is Abbey's editorial.

I'm not a big fan of the cover. They could have done something so much better especially with her image.

She looks like a defiant little kid on the cover

Oh wow, this is tragic, she does not look her best, a very bad angle for her face, it also makes her look cross eyed! The missing of G (with U over her hair pin?!!) in the masthead, and the bloody pink font again, and then as if that was not enough, there is the; "Oh So Pretty" text! And that is ironic since that image is anything but! Wish they let someone like McLellan shot the cover, since Testino didn't shot a nice UK Vogue cover in years, imo.

The review at least sounds interesting.....

I thought the cover would be more dramatic than this, a great image of a beautiful misfit... but at first glance, I feel it's a dull shot of a slightly stroppy girl. Ah well, I'll wait to see what the rest of the issue is like.

I suppose it brings some dynamism to the images, but I do look at those Karlie shots and hope 'falling over' doesn't become the new 'jump up and down' or else the girls will start demanding danger money, and people emulating fashion editorials on blogs are going to end up with a lot of bruises. A new career option opens up - professional stunt model.

I'm so happy for Lana! I don't know about you guys but I think she does look good in the cover!

abbey lee looks stunning in her editorial, love the styling! on the other hand i love karlie but her ed is awful. i don't know why they chose her for the ed and to style her like that, they should have chosen an older model. zuzanna looks nice, but there are only some shots that i like. the ones with the white background are the best for me. kind of disappointing so far, still looking forward to other eds though.

that`s the secound time for sorrenti in vogue uk previous was in 2000 with angela lindvall

^ that's interesting. Thanks for the info.

Me too! I think the cover is lovely.
She's not the kind of artist who I expect magazines to do something edgy, I prefer something a little more "classic", like this. Good for a first Vogue cover, nothing try-hard or overdoing her own style.

The only problems for me are the excess of pink and text, as it usually happens with UK Vogue, and I no longer expect them to change... And of course "Oh so pretty" is quite cheesy, but they've had worse cover lines.
