UK Vogue March 2024 by Steven Meisel

Besides all of this (which is a lot), my biggest hope is this a new start for Meisel and Kate/Cindy. I would love to see him doing campaigns with both from now. One of the shocking facts I learned about a fashion years ago was that Kate only had a solo VI cover, as well Cindy, and then nothing else (pre 2016).

Maybe you don't know that Meisel photographed this picture. ^_^

as a Vittoria fan I’m happy that he included her on this cover which also made her (I know with Vogue Paris becoming Vogue France and Vogue Italia becoming… well, Vogue Italia… it means less and less, but…) achieve twice the Vogue Covers Golden Slam, as I like to call it. amazing accolade!

no sight of my muse, Claudia.
I wonder if she was considered at all. she’s more and more involved in the film industry but was also on the last Versace catwalk… Meisel must really be reluctant on photographing her since he even shot Kate Moss in the group. or another one of her snubs… she’s done a few 🙄😩

Claudia wasn't an option because she didn't appear on the cover during Edward's ternure. All these girls are former cover stars of his reign.

Claudia no era una opción porque no apareció en la portada durante el mandato de Edward. Todas estas chicas son ex estrellas de portada de su reinado
Neither Cindy .

To me this cover means nothing without Rihanna (3 covers), Tylor Swift (2 covers) and Byonce. They are the biggest stars of all Edwards covers. Where is Margot Robbie? Bella Hadid? Zendaya? Lady Gaga? Adele?!? Madonna?!?

Can you imagine what a scheduling nightmare this must've been and how much effort and pull it must've taken to get the 40 (!!!) women that were actually there in the first place? Madonna and Adele are touring. Depending on when this shoot was scheduled, Taylor might have still been on tour as well as Beyoncé. Rihanna just had a baby. Margot was booked to the gods since Barbie. Bella was on a hiatus due to her illness and then Palestine happened. If there's anything anyone should respect about this cover, it's the organisation and scheduling that went into getting all these major women in the same room for a single photograph. Not many could pull it off.

Although I see people wondering about Vogue's commitment to environmental issues while celebrating people flying thousands of miles just for the moment.

It is very fashion fabulous to arrive by private jet for a cover shoot, but it's obvious that caring about the environment IS FOR THE PLEBS.

Kate by Meisel, Kate by Meisel... a miracle happened and no one noticed that!. I don't care the biggest female actress or musicians when this actually happened.

See, I personally don't see that as a big deal really. They worked quite consistently throughout the 90s, so even though she may not have been one of his muses I don't understand why we all think he despised her? He photographed her very early on in 1992, a year before she scored her first Vogue cover. They went on to collaborate through Calvin Klein for years, done multiple covers for American Vogue and two for Italian, she even appeared in one of his most celebrated fashion stories from '97. Was it ever confirmed that they had beef? Because there's no concrete proof of that, in fact it's quite the contrary. I believe it's safe to say he worked even less with Cindy Crawford than he did with Kate, yet there's no rumors about that relationship.

While many of these cover subjects are undeniably major stars, most of them also have a vibe about them that makes me think they’ve show up to the opening of an envelope. I’m sure the offer of a Vogue cover was irresistible.
