No matter how much I moisturize and use the sensitive 'softening' deodorants like Dove, my underarm is not a pleasing thing. Very razorburned and bumpy.

My boyfriend told me about this stone called tawas (link) they use in the Philippines that they crush to a nice powder, mix it with lemon and rub it on their underarms. It makes the skin soft and lighter in shade.

I'm hoping to find a little Philippino shop somewhere here in southern CA before I order online, but I'm wondering what else do you know of that is good for this ungodly area?

Hum...... I know this may sound weird.... but only shave your underarms often when needed (like in the summertime).... ...to avoid rashes and bumps. That's my best tips....

Don't shave to close to your skin...... I've never heard of that product though.

Shave only when you're going to be showing off your underarms.. like when you wear tank tops or sleeves short enough to show your underarms. That's what I do ;)

I would give Tend Skin a try (for razor burn) and switch to an all natural deodorant like Tom's of Maine :flower:

Do you use shaving cream? That makes the biggest difference, and only shave when needed.
Tom's of Maine is a good deoderant, it's very natural and soft so you shouldn't get any negative reactions to it.

I never get bumps under my arms from shaving... there are certain deoderants that help with underarm hair and shaving, etc.

hey has anyone tried the veet rasera bladeless razor thing? is it good?

Me too ... but sometimes I forget...like when I have dance class later in the day and I forget that my leotards are sleeveless ... uh oh

I know of Tawas....where in Southern Cali are you?....I'm in Los Angeles and there are tons of filipino goods store around here...also....organic places has the crystal deoderant like that link....I've seen it I think at Trader Joes, Erewon or Whole Foods.:flower:
