US Elle June 2015 : Taylor Swift by Michael Thompson

bad cover, hate that they chose full body shot. should have just focused on her face, she's so beautiful !

Awful, the styling is unforgivable.

Recently went home for a visit, and found a treasure trove of my sister's 80's Elle magazines, when Gilles Bensimon was the creative director. He had really beautiful/incredible covers. That said, not a big fan of Taylor and this cover is the world trying to make her sexy. It ain't happening. That jumpsuit is ill fitting, the stomach is all sorts of strange, and the boots make it a weirdo out of space suit. And like Béyonce she is everywhere all the time. Please go away for a while, make people miss you! I agree that Rihanna is overexposed too, and not super talented at the singing thing, but she is interesting and entertaining.

This cover just doesn't work. The "guitar" pose is so overused and she actually looks a bit silly doing it here.

Why doesn't she go away for a while? I like her but there is such thing as overexposure. Do people really think that readers like having the same stars shoved down our throats over and over and over again?

It's funny seeing her with a guitar like everyone equates Taylor Swift with amazing guitar playing... literally all I think of when it comes to her is her weird looking cats, constant shots of her walking around in cutesy outfits, and her incessant need to list her "famous" girlfriends in interviews. Next please.

Lol, she's a friend collector. Does she play the guitar well? Never heard her.

But she does actually. Probably you only started following her once she became hyper famous. She's a good player. Before she became so insufferable she used to play the guitar at most of her country shows and tv interviews. In fact, strictly in terms of actual talent such as writing and musical instruments, Taylor is better than Beyonce, Selena, Rihanna and most of the other pop stars. Of course her actual music isnt really my taste.

Now I really need to hear her play the guitar. I never thought she was "country," seriously putting a banjo on a pop song does not make it country. I think she had pop sensibilities for the get-go, but the girl pop scene was over saturated when she first came out. Taylor was smart, she bid her time, conquered country and slid in to "pop" at the perfect time.

As for Selena, ugh, another Jill of all trades and mistress of none. Béyonce needs to take a long, long, long break. Have people miss her. And Rihanna, she's so cool it doesn't matter, she's everywhere, but not doing much music. Looking at her outfits is entertaining enough.

Interesting analogy, I never quite thought of it that way. Guess she pulled the wool over my eyes as well because I felt she was more of a country star who switched to pop. It always looked like she had quite a tremendous country following. Again, I'm basing this from an outsider's perspective, so my opinion may be flawed, lol.

Is there any hard-core country acts anymore? Today's country music is more like country-pop, which I felt Taylor was when she first arrived on the scene. That's why it wasn't surprising to me that she crossed over to pop, which I believe was the game plan to begin with.

^She has zero expression. They styling in this edit is really repetitive too, she looks good in those white boots but I don't think we need to see them four times.

Bella must be US Elle's answer to Kendall. She looked great in last month's edit, but this has the feel of something formulaic.

^I forgot to comment just how terrific Bella Hadid looked in last month's thread! But I agree this time around Bella doesn't look half as decent. I'm shocked David Bellemere even produced such a mundane photo shoot, actually.
