US Harper’s Bazaar September 2021 : Beyoncé by Campbell Addy

Oh wow, they did her dirty. That opening photo in white feathered Gucci coat is inexplicable. And there is something about either her hair or makeup or both that isn't working for me. She looks kinda washed-out out, especially in the shots with the light backdrop. I love the image with the horse, and I'm living for that Dangerously in Love pose tribute, now that should've been the cover!

I actually ended up sort of liking this... :ninja: the last two covers are very Beyoncé and far superior to the first two. And I also like several of the editorial images, so I'd definitely buy this if I saw it on the newsstand. It could've been better, sure, but I'll take what I can get. At least it's better than last month's blasphemy.

The editorial is a visual mess. Samira & Beyoncé stylist clearly had a fight on set to put Ivy Park pieces because the styling make no sense. All the Ivy Park pieces stick out like a sore thumb when mixed with other brands.

The irony is the best picture is the Givenchy one that didn't included her brand. That Bottega coat make me bust out a laugh tho .

Dora anybody knows if Carine Is still the global fashion somethin' of Bazaar or she was kickout and nobody knows or care.

She's a terrible model and always looks it.
I admit, that cover with the feathered sleeves has some elegance to it.
Maybe the editors should be faulted.
If they had released that cover only, it could have had real impact.

The last two are awesome though her face on the last one would have been lower.

The Gucci and Valentino covers are much better, also the shots with the horses. I really like the shot of her with the nude Dior, just that damn denim corset.

Her hair is interesting, love seeing her in updos but the “swoop” looks a bit messy yet I really appreciate the shot on the sand to see the detail of the hair but it’s a horrible pose.

Also why would she be the face of Tiffany, ugh hate that it’s with her husband. She’s been loyal to Lorraine Schwartz for decades and she makes jewelry that’s more diverse and fits Beyoncé’s stage/red carpet/music video looks.

Beyonce has terrible fashion taste. She has many talents though. This ivy Park line is a big no.

The only time I was impressed by her for a magazine was with The Gentlewoman.

Bravo to Samira to have her for the September issue.

I also like her on W i think by MM and that's it.

Terrible set of covers...one worst than the others....in the end i blame the EIC for this hot mess..

When Carine's work appeared in Bazaar, it was usually the worst part of the issue - we're not talking about someone who can move from magazine to magazine and bring the Vogue Paris editorial magic everywhere they go. That time was a set of circumstances which is not likely to ever be repeated.

I'm glad I didn't throw away any of my old Bazaars, because Glenda's looking good these days.

Not only that, Carine knew what to do in VP and envision the magazine. her work for HB was with good intentions but that's all. She was famous because of VP but she didn't try to replicate this to HB or her own magazine. But if she was named EIC the story will be different and i don't mean replicate VP.

Also those publishing corporations have a lot of rules and limitations and when someone feels limitated rarely produce something good.

So I guess my sources were solid, I didn’t lie to you in the cover rumor thread lol

The fourth cover is “Dangerously In Love” at the 2004 Grammys realness. The rest is.. yeah.

LOL, it appears we're about to be infiltrated by the Beyhive. Lots of bees, and stinging, and clapbacks incoming. Who put out an ad on Twitter? Armani, my fancy tickles towards you....... :innocent:
I welcome all of them to the forum! :P But leave the fanaticism at the door.
HAHAHA!! If I could singlehandedly bring 126 members of the Beyhive to these forums, I think I’d be set… I assume some Instagram or Twitter updates account credited Demon Time for the cover leak.

Wouldn’t be surprised if a good half of those were bots, nevertheless, but I think we’ve made it clear most of us, if not ALL of us, adore Beyoncé as an artist but simply don’t find her fashion shoots her strongest skill.

I like IVY Park as a brand, don’t get me wrong, but it’s evidently inappropriate for it to be featured in fashion shoots. Both times (EDIT: It’s three times now, I think…) Bey’s tried to promote the brand via cover slots & editorial shots, it’s failed to rise to the occasion. The Valentino cover is my favorite.

EDIT: Lord, most shots in the ed are FAR better than the cover photos! What is going on???

The cover with the black outfit and Hat is the best! it has a lot of attitude!
The first time I saw Ivy Park looking good on someone was on Janelle Monae in Antebellum.
Are people really supposed to look good in athleisure? It’s a fair question.
I think those are pieces that looks good for what they are but I’ve never asked myself if I look good in a sweatpants or workout attire lol
Even if someone can say that a brand like Y-3 can somehow look good on people, i think the approach there is very lifestyle oriented. It’s an extension of an aesthetic….

Why does nobody photograph her just intimate and smiley and effortless? Thats what I wanna see.
