US InStyle October 2021 : Anya Taylor-Joy by Sebastian Faena

what the f*ck @Chanel @virginie.viard is on her head?
also, no cohesion at all! some shots are good some are not so good…

what’s with the retouching? CRIMINAL.

The only good picture is the cover...the rest not, something is off about her expressions and body language.also in hair and makeup department. or she is afraid of the camera or just not photogenic...as someone mentioned in another thread one thing is looking good in your Instagram and another story is getting your pictures shot for a magazine...

dont know who this is, but this is boring as hell.

It looks vintage to me, like those white background fashion magazine covers from the 80s.

A crying shame this won't make it to newsstands because I find the newsstand cover image to be rather stunning, love the styling, Anthony Maule's lighting and the overall vintage vibe I'm getting. The image just screams fashion! Although I did have to Google who Tommy Dorfman was.

I have to admit that I don't like the shots with the flowers, but the rest is stunning! Can't wait to see her on Vogue.

Law Roach again?
Good God! And we wonder why magazines are dead? Actual stylists are no longer getting the prime spots. And for those who'd say I'm cherrypicking, not the case. Ken Paves is one of the main reasons why I couldn't stand Victoria Beckham's many covers.
I will never support a fashion cover styled by the celebrity's personal dresser. This should NOT be normalised. I actually see it as a form of censorship. Censorship of creativity! Because these celebrities only wish to be portrayed a certain way. Well if you don't like what a magazine's stylists are doing, then don't sit for the cover.

As for the cover, it's cheesy to the max and that shade of blonde doesn't suit her. The colour looks very fake and almost yellow. Like Lindsay Lohan during her wild years.

All of this!

Ugh, thank you! I keep saying this and no one ever agrees. It's an awful, cheap looking color that does her no favors. Brunette would be better, but if she insists on blonde, she needs a different shade. :judge:

The cover is simple, but the editorial is great (except the photo with the horse).
