US Vogue August 2009 : Christy Turlington by Steven Klein

Boring as usual and inundated with trashy text as usual.

Besides, the whole idea of "The Age Issue" is the antithesis to high-fashion and its artistry. These age issues are [predictably] about beautiful women who can afford to be Vogue-beautiful via their yoga instructors, private organic chefs, dermatologists, etc. Why should we care / celebrate them?

To me these issues are mundane, predicatable and redundant; and only serve to reiterate how farcical US Vogue has become! :innocent:

i adore christy but this cover doesn't do her any justice. i prefer her looking more relaxed. the shot beside it is beautiful though.. she is so elegant

So strange. I was not expecting this lukewarm reaction to the cover. I know the cover is not stellar, but I don't know. There is something so wonderful about seeing Christy on the cover now. It's a welcome break from all the mass market celebrity hype and high end Lara-loving madness. This is the issue I want to take with me on summer vacation. ^_^

A black sweater and khakis? A khaki jacket and jeans? My God, why is US Vogue so DULL!

i don't know why but i thought of this when i saw the cover

For some reason, I thought of the one with Rachel Weisz last year on the porch steps.

whatever, all Vogue covers are slight variations of each other anyways, lol

Oh bollocks.......where the hell have I been:doh:
I didn't even see this thread and didn't know the gorgeous Christy was on the cover:shock:
Not the greatest cover by any standard but I never tire of this lovely lady:heart: and she totally deserves every cover she gets IMO.

happy that christy is on the cover but...they could have done so much more
the text is killing me, it's hideous

^^You know comments like this really make me wonder if you people even buy US Vogue? Or is it just based on what you see here in the threads?

I mean if this year US Vogue didn't get a "shake up", then it never will.
