US Vogue August 2010 : Gwyneth Paltrow by Mario Testino

surprisingly enough...I actually like this. but I have to agree that I am a bit sick of seeing Gwen...Iron Man came out months ago, what could she possible have to talk about now that is so interesting?

I wonder if Vogue US readers really like her that much

As Vogue US covers go this is nice enough and Gwyneth looks lovely.
I wonder if anyone looks forward to seeing a Vogue US cover nowadays, other than the usual yearly model one? They are just so forgettable.

The cover is one of the best of this year for vogue us.
For once we don't have that terrible close up or a boring old look picture that doesn't have any interrest. I feel she is more natural than usual, and i appreciate that a lot. Nice!!!

It's decent, but forgettable like nearly every US Vogue cover. I like the use of colour though

Agreed! 100%
US magazines are seriously in need of new blood. They don't even try anymore.

Wow, the picture of her among all the books is one of the best pictures of her.

i agree it's decent...the cover don't impress me but it's not ugly, it's just another one...
someone can post the review?

US Vogue lacks majorly the "thinking out of the box" philosophy when it comes to choosing their cover stars. Same people all the time year to year. So boring. There are so many other talented stars that could grace their covers, but instead we see Blake, Gwyneth, Keira, Drew, Kate Hudson, Cate Blanchet over and over and over again. Tragic.

Gwenyth looks gorgeous, but this cover is so deja vu (and overly photoshopped).
Vogue keeps recycling the same faces: specifically blonde, leggy, and boring celebs.
Anna Wintour is losing her touch. She needs to spice it up.
Even the Marion Cotillard cover was a huge bore.
Where's the creativity? Where's the couture? Where's the fashion?
Come on Vogue, take some risks! Stop playing it safe!

Cause they are mainstream stars that American's know. These people don't want stars like Tilda Swinton or Chloe Sevigny. It's a shame but that's how it goes.

Anna also said that she won't use models unless they raise their public profiles. This is why you see Giselle and Natalia but not someone like Daria cause they have "high profile" relationships like the 90s Supermodels did.

Lara might have a good chance of a cover cause ever since her marriage she is getting a lot more press. Joe Public in the UK are starting to know who she is cause of pap pics in the newspapers/gossip mags and it could start to drift to the US.

How photoshopped! She has no particular features left, she looks like a doll...
But that's not bad for Vogue US :)
And... Gwyneth again??!

Better than past Gwyneth covers, but still.. GWYNETH? AGAIN? REALLY?

I knoooooooow right?! I'm sooooo sick of her and I really don't get her appeal to fashion magazines! And American Vogue should really STOP re-casting the same old actresses every single year !

.

Yeah but magazines and especially the bible American VOGUE should try to avoid to fall into that rule because seeing the same actresses of the same models will not help them to raise more readers to buy their magazine because in the end "we" the usual buyers will get sick of that

^ I totally 100% agree. But we can't do much about it so it's just a case of just go with it.

The cover is just typical Vogue US, celebrity on the cover, big font, not remarkable at all to me.
But Gwyneth looks good, the color are nice too.

That's why I usually prefer Vogue Italia or France. Us Vogue is same old same old. And as a fashion lover, I'd rather see creativity. I believe that's what we see more frequently in covers of vogue italia or france.
