I am happy with Nicole on cover, but the result is really dissapointing. The photo looks like straight form early 90's. The worst part is Nicole's hair. Especially when you compare this cover the previous covers with Nicole on Vogue (May 2004 and September 2004 and franch Vogue September 2005) when she was photographed by Annie Leibovitz and Irving Penn ( he always captures her beauty )
Does somebody know, who made the photo shoot?
Maybe the pictures inside are better like with Cate Blanchett? Boring and conservative cover and spectacular photos inside...

This is old news. I declared it worthless in early 2004. I was looking forward to Beyonce or Angelina somewhat but now I have to settle for another drab Nicole interview. I hope they bring up Keith Urban in Rehab and have wedding photos. That's all I can really hope for now.

Wow, the speculation about this cover was way off base and there was not a hint that Nicole was in the running. I love Nicole and I am happy about this cover. I like it, her pose especially, but I hope her face and hair looks better in person than in that shot - not so hot.

I sometimes complain about the fact that Nicole is part of US Vogue's "holy grail" of celebrity cover stars. I don't think anyone other than Gwyneth Paltrow (who is the epitome of what Anna and Co adore) has been featured on Vogue more in the past 10 years. Correct me if I'm wrong of course but I feel like a Kidman cover is generally expected every other year just about. I find that frequency a tad boring in that there are so many other models / actresses who would make for great cover material.

That said Nicole's covers are usually gorgeous. Her 2004 Irving Penn cover was simply put nothing short of perfection in my opinion and I think that is exactly how a celebrity cover should look. Unusual, elegant and devoid of extraneous text. It succeeds on all the levels where this cover fails. She's a beautiful woman but this dress (which I think is STUNNING on the runway, Stam wore the hell out of it) does not suit her. Her hair is messed up, we've got all this horrid text littering the cover. Ugh. Subpar.

I think overall it's a nice cover and I much prefer this version of Nicole to her much blancer blond one. She looks wonderful as a red-head and reminds of her beginnings as a movie actress.
