US Vogue January 2009 : Anne Hathaway by Mario Testino

^ I guess I'll remove the text if I scan it :D
ROFL, I should just remove the text from all the US Vogue covers...

Desperate moments like this remind me why the Vogue Cover Challenge needs to come back.

Ugh.
While it's a nice change from the Keira/Gwyneth/Nicole, the fact that you can't even see what she's wearing just goes to show how far Vogue strayed from fashion andis now just focused on celebrity (that and the fact that last month they put the Angelina quote on the cover).
And what does Anne have to promote? Bride Wars? Give me a ****ing break.
At least Wintour's not holding a grudge from the devil wears prada?

^ your improved cover is a lot
better..and yes you should do
that to see if it improves
any of the other should I say numerous
horrible Vogue covers

Anne has also Rachel Getting Married movie out, which is getting amazing reviews for her, and alot of Oscar Buzz (she is nominated for the Golden Globe alredy), so i do think it was right to put her on the cover now.

Well, I'm glad it's Anne Hathaway... wasn't Blake Lively rumored briefly? Or is that still a possibility for February? Regardless, as far as US Vogue covers go, this one isn't terrible. For starters, Anne actually looks like Anne and isn't airbrushed beyond recognition (Kate Hudson cover, anyone?) and there aren't tabloid-style headlines like last month.

I'm also really curious to see the debut of redhead Coco! As far as I'm concerned, Coco can do no wrong.

Why do they always f**k up the actress people aren't tired of seeing aka Aniston,Kidman,etc... It's not a bad cover but she looks weird, her smile looks fake.Damn are they ever gonna get it right?!?!?!?

It's bright and cheery......can't deny that but Anne just looks plain weird IMO.
Another hopeless attempt at a decent cover. Nothing new there for Vogue US.:innocent:

looks quite vintage- something from early nineties, maybe `allure` cover, not from 2008 at all

omg omg anne is on the cover! :bounce:vogue did something right. it's a miracle. :bounce:

us vogue is so bad that them doing something as minimal as placing someone i like on their cover is enough to make me ridiculously happy.

The Rules: More Sex. Cosmo called, they would like their catchphrase back :flower:

Ugh I honestly don't have anything other to say about US Vogue other than what's been repeated for a million times in the US Vogue threads so I'll just keep quiet.

the cover is an improvement from the jen aniston one, but still nothing special. doesn't really capture your attention. also anne hathaway just bores me to death:ermm:

She looks drunk and her face look quite prolonged-weird! Hate the cover, they made her look like a dragqueen. Love Anne look at her latest W but this is horrible!

Well, I like the cover, it's not fabulous but it's nice. At least she is wearing Prada (coincidence? :judge:).
I don't like the text: A New President! I don't know, this sounds weird, I don't think this is a subject to put on the cover of Vogue.

Yes, it's as if the phrase 'A New President' is put there to capitalise on the mood, to grab some of the glory, without actually getting too involved with the reality. And there's no hint of what angle this feature will take, so it seems an utterly empty phrase sitting on the front of a magazine, stating something we already know.

If the concept was that important to Vogue, the idea of a new President would be reflected in more than three words on a cover.

They must have been stuck for what words to use in that space, because visually, it balances nicely in word size, it's just a pity it doesn't really mean much.

A higher quality image of the cover. I think Anne is a great new choice but the cover is quite laughable - as someone said, Vogue doesn't even try to focus on fashion anymore, it's all a celebrity promo. They showcase her recent relationship scandal on the cover too ... I could get more inspiration from the cover of People....

'Clothes with personality that reflects yours' sounds terribly ungrammatical to my ears. 'Which reflect yours' would have been my preference. Though no doubt, if I read on, I will find out what sort of outfit suits someone unwisely picky about words at 1am in the morning.
