Oh I loved your comment and I agree with you! I think that this 'new year with a new president' subject is something that we already know, and they don't try to make it relevant, all this few words were used just to complete the cover and balance it.Yes, it's as if the phrase 'A New President' is put there to capitalise on the mood, to grab some of the glory, without actually getting too involved with the reality. And there's no hint of what angle this feature will take, so it seems an utterly empty phrase sitting on the front of a magazine, stating something we already know.
If the concept was that important to Vogue, the idea of a new President would be reflected in more than three words on a cover.
They must have been stuck for what words to use in that space, because visually, it balances nicely in word size, it's just a pity it doesn't really mean much.
On another note I really hope Trentini can finally break into US Vogue, I don't think I'd be able to contain my excitement if Anna finally lets her appear in an editorial.
