US Vogue March 2010 : Tina Fey by Mario Testino

I love to hate American Vogue, but this looks like a really great issue! I don't like the cover itself, but the quirky choice of Fey seems to perfectly represent the kind of issue this is shaping up to be.

The Wanderers looks great, happy to see Patricia in the magazine, she's definitely growing on me. Meisel's ed is fantastic! Just the power of a great choice of models - they all look fantastic. People don't seem to like Mirte's shot, and I agree she probably looks the weakest of the cast. But she's also by far the newest, and I still love her unique look here - there's something a bit mischievous about her expression, a great contrast to Karlie's more serene, ladylike face.

Excited to see more! I can't believe I'm saying that about this magazine though...

what a strong issue... at least it seems to be. the layout change looks great as well.

Thus far, things look quite good. I am pleased at the use of such richly recent models. I initially thought that The Wanderers was a work of Peter Lindbergh's, but regardless it is quality. This is such a great alteration of content. Have they aquired some new editors?

Oh-k, there's more emotion in one of the wanderer shots alone than I have seen in an entire year of 00 Vogues. I'm going for the masthead first when I get this one....Thanks for the previews. Abbey Lee in Vogue, it feels like we're not in Kansas anymore....:lol:

#301 It doesn't look like any other work of Arthur Elgort. I feel Peter Lindbergh and even Steven Hiett.

New issue, new text, new models. But in the end it really didn't feel that new, if that makes any sense. We've seen it all before. Especially Testino's editorial which is pretty much a DKNY ad campaign.

Lara's shot is my favorite thing in the whole issue though.

Actually its only 18 pages more than last years issue had, so yeah it aint that much of a difference at all, weirdly i expected it to be at least 590.

The March issue in 2007 or 2008, featuring Drew Barry Moore has 600 pages. Is that the biggest march issue?

↑ I think so. That issue's 660 pages. ^_^ Still, I'm happy it got past the 500-page mark. Given the economic crunchdown I was expecting a 400 or 350+ page issue. :D

I picked this up today just to do some scans later on, but i must say that i'm not exactly as thrilled with this issue as everyone else :ninja: Meisel's editorial is a special treat and the diverse casting is impressive, since there's a little some(one)thing for everyone but i don't see anything to jump for joy about...but that's just my personal opinion. Also, Amanda Seyfried is photoshopped to bits in Steal of the Month..for anyone who cares.

Oh, Mchunu, you're a darling! I was hoping to have my copy of Vogue by today but my relatives from Brazil sent it to me later than I had expected because a dear, dear cousin of ours has died, which makes me feel very sorry, I've been weeping lots and lots today. Well, enough with the off topic, Mchunu, I'd love to see Love at First Sight and Straight from the Hip, if you don't mind!

Mchunu, can't wait for your scans! :flower: I have been wanting to see the rest of the eds. on how they look like. :)

Not your typical US Vogue editorial, makes a nice change. Always a pleasure to see Daria.
Great setting, styling and photography. Very strong editorial, thanks for scanning Mchunu!

Wow the scanned eds look divine!!!!! Still not available here though. I'm so excited to own this issue.

Thanks Mchunu. That ed is completely un-Grace Coddington ...it's a very 'easy' concept and I predicted half of the looks that would be in the editorial before I saw it, but it works very well. I like the shot of Daria in McQueen where she looks a little softer.
