Jessica and Katy for me.
Kate Upton seems to be the only cover that I enjoy entirely, others have parts I like and parts I dislike but overall its a bland year for a steadily decreasing magazine.
Same here with Greenway, kate upton's was the better cover this year. The rests look pretty bland
^Shockingly, I agree. Kate Upton's is the absolute standout. Gwen Stefani's is decent in comparison to the rest, too. But overall a terrible set of covers for US Vogue this year.
From that thumbnail poor Michelle looks like a Tony Oursler's creature. Enough said about US Vogue standars with that.
I've bought 4 issues this year: February, March, June and September, with Kate Upton's cover being by far the best.
I like Carey's the best and then Gwen's, Katy's and Jessica's. I thought Rooney's was the worst of them.
Hoping 2014 brings much more visually stimulating covers!!!!
June: Kate Upton !! ONLY A MODEL ON THE COVER IN THE YEAR !!
WHERE ARE THE COVERS WITH SUPERMODELS
Vogue USA - August 2006 - ph. Steven Klein: Linda Evangelista
Rooney's cover is actually shockingly awful to me, and even more so in print, When i bought that issue, i literally couldn't believe they would go with such unflattering image of her for the cover. But its Gwen & Kate for me.
Kate's, Katy's and Gwen's covers are quite good. Carey's and Michelle's covers are awful, and the rest is mediocre.
It's interesting to see all of the 2013 covers together, because I thought this was a strong year for American Vogue. Although it's really hard to pick the strongest and most compelling cover. They all have their faults (sans one or two). My favourite has to be Kate Upton's followed by Kate Winslet's and then Jessica Chastain. Michelle Obama's is still a complete eyesore and I still don't like Claire Danes'.
Looking at the 2013 covers together makes me realise that I only bought the March and September issues, and I only bought them because of their page count and the feeling that you can't miss out on the big months, regardless of whether the content is actually worth the cover price.
Actually,it wasn't such a bad year for US Vogue, at least when it comes to first six months. I thought the year will going to be great cause I instantly fell in love with Gwen cover, it's one of my fav covers of all time! I like Beyonce and Katy Perry covers as well, but I agree with you that Kate Upton was their best cover this year. From Claire Danes to Jessica (which I like, but not for December)they ruined the year. Summary, there has been a huge lack of imagination and creativity. I think they were "playing safe" the whole year choosing the 12 top women, scared to experiment and cross the limits. It's sad to have only one model on the cover
Models are never gonna happen. Unfortunately. First you have to make a star out of a model (just like Upton) so people could get to know about her. I believe that Karlie Kloss would/should be next, but I don't see any stage lights on her. Even when Miranda Kerr was on American Cosmo, people were commenting ''who is this??''
What a terrible batch of covers. Not a single truly great one. Three that stand out to me are: Beyonce (surprisingly enough), Kate Upton (ugh) and Jessica Chastain. Neither is that much to write home about, but they're the least offensive.
I love the colors on the cover with Carey Mulligan but I DESPISE the hair/scarf (I know, Great Gatbsy, I don't care). Sandra's cover features vile hair too.
The worst of the year is easily Michelle Obama. And yet again, the case of bad hair strikes.
Does anybody have a list of all the stylists who have styled the covers under Anna's reign? Is there anyway to find out?

I thoroughly enjoyed their covers this year! The banner is officially gone thank God! 2 model covers and I'm beyond happy.
The highlight of this year definitely has to be the addition of Mikael Jansson to the roster of photographers used for their covers. And I hope they start using Inez & Vinoodh in their covers as well as the return of Mert & Marcus / Meisel.
The covers Leibovitz' produced this year are better than her previous ones. The weakest has to be the Instagirls. The September cover has this very disorganized feel to it. It falls short in comparison to the striking images used in other covers. It doesn't have this impact on it as to when you look at the other covers. I would have booked Natalia on the September cover than these girls, but none the less, it's still a pretty cover.
Ugly covers and ugly layout from January to October. Overall, Vogue looks just like a cheap online magazine. Wonder what is going on at the American Vogue.
