This was really an interesting year for US Vogue.
I love Gisele, Saoirse & Beyonce. Those 3 covers are the most fresh looking and are quite indicative of something new or at least, a desire to try something at American Vogue. But they are still very Vogue IMO.

The rest is a bit confused because they almost belong to another time. They are predictable...

Only Gisele for me! What a terrible year, i still can't get over how awful that Amal cover is, Or Saoirse, or Claire.etc just wow!

Heaven: Three consecutive, Gisele, Saoirse and Beyoncé, all natural.
Hell: Claire Foy (I don't blame her, it was bad styling)

I’m gonna go with Gisele and Lupita. Purely for the the pretty backgrounds.

I can't decide which of these two is the worst: Claire's or Alicia's. The former's styling is the definition of wrong and the latter has some of the saddest photoshopped result in the history of the magazine.

My favorite covers are Beyonce's, Rihanna's, and Gisele's. Saoirse's has all the makings of a great cover--Jaime Hawkesworth's photography there is simply breathtaking--but her expression fell flat to me.

Not the most memorable or overwhelming bunch of covers but certainly not the worst from US Vogue.

My most favourite has to have been the cover with Rihanna by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott which I absolutely loved (and still do). I also oddly liked the cover from April with Kendall Jenner too... like it how it felt more like a real fashion image as opposed to just being the usual commercial standard.

The Gisele cover was by far the biggest disappointment (hated how cluttered it was with the background), I did not see the fascination with those Beyonce covers from September and thought the Saoirse Ronan offering was atrocious.

Kendall's was great, I don't see nothing wrong with her cover. It was well made. Maybe she was rejected by most of the members because her family, and the lack of emotion in her past work. But I prefer her over any of her sister, this girl is pretty, and has the face and the body for being a model. I was expecting a Bella cover this year, maybe Anna is not very into her, as Gigi and Kendall. And don't forget Kaia. She turns 18 next year. She can be on the cover of the september issue for the next year.

I have really love almost every cover this year from Vogue US, the only ones I don’t like are August with Ariana & September with Taylor! Apart from those two I have really loved the other covers

Meh, but better than try-hard european or messy asian covers. Not impressive, but instantly recognisable and somewhat cohesive - which I value.
My favorite of the year must be Priyanka, from the rich golden tones to her natural beauty, she's breathtaking. But I've always hated the ''Landed the man of her dreams'' headline and the way they included Nick in the whole story. As mentioned before, last quarter of the year was fantastic as well, but I'd also include Margot and Kim. Looking back at Kim's cover, I gather it's a subtle nod to her MET Look, with the wet eleganza, water and all that. It only makes me love the cover a little bit more!
Least favorite is definitely Taylor with her Abraham Lincoln realness (didn't she have another cover, btw?), Ariana's disastrously photoshopped snooze-fest and the Biebers (only because of their name, which is petty, I know!)

I hope Anna keeps up the good streak she started with Olivia, Rihanna and Phoebe for the next year, because a positive change in this magazine is long overdue.

My fave is Kim's cover, ad hoc to the month and the Met's theme (I won't be surprised if Anna names her as co-chair in the next 3 years). I loved Nov and Dec covers and also Reese's one. Kuddos to EJG and Zoe for their great debut!

I thought I was the only on who noticed that! (and my friends called me crazy because I got the reference).

Vogue US sure got their sh!t together this year! IMO not one ugly cover in sight. Although the colours began to get more and more dreary starting with May...

I like Rihanna and Margot. Olivia and the last cover girl (don't know who is she) are a nice surprise. The rest, typical comercial Us Vogue cover. Worst is march, that one was the lowest ever.

They started really great, flopped miserably at the middle, and ended with a bang.

The January to May covers were stunning. Yes, that included the covers of both The Mrs. Enablers.

June to September, terrible. Anna must've been busy during those times. I still cannot get over how terrible the Ariana and Taylor covers were.

Good thing they came back with the October to December covers. Flawless.

8/12 for me. Not bad.

2018 was really a transitional year for US Vogue and 2019 is really a return to a more laid back, timeless, fresh aesthetic. The worst covers are maybe Taylor and Ariana because they are really cheesy when the rest has that natural feel.

No M&M this year. They needs to find a way to refresh their vocabulary then...

Thank God there was now M&M, Lola. She's doing fine without those two hacks, so I really hope they just continue in this vein.

PWB, Priyanka, Reese and the global actress covers were the best for me. I don't loathe the rest, except Ariana and Taylor's. And I feel they could've done more with Olivia, but just her getting the cover was enough for me.

All these covers truly reflect why the magazine is such a commercial force, with Kim and Ariana's being the most shared. If she can continue with the balance of a hyped subject next to a serious actress, then I'm fine with it. Also, now that I see Zendaya's cover next to Kim's, hate to admit it but Kim's look way better!

Going into the new year, get your content art direction and layout in proper order because it's messy, invest in more fashion edits and continue getting new talent to adapt their style to your magazine as opposed to the other way around, and maybe just stick to the font used on PWB and the Bieber covers?
