Véronique Nichanian - Designer, Creative Director of Hermès Menswear

There is a long feature about her in Esquire The Big Black Book 2015 F/W. I will try to find digital version scan for your fans ASAP..

Oh wow !!! That is big. Who could take over the menswear only or is something else at play ? I am taking into consideration their haute couture aspirations.

At long last...bye Felicia!! Now they have to get rid of Nadège and find someone interesting to revitalize their stale image (if that person exist in nowadays fashion landscape).

Can Nadege’s contract end already?
Kudos to Veronique. She stayed a longtime. She probably worked under the best possible conditions and Kudos to the Dumas for their loyalty.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS.

I want Pilati or Umit Benan.
They will be better at Armani post L’Oreal acquisition.

Probably someone from the house. She chose to leave so she probably chose her successor.

Couture aspirations are detached as it’s womenswear.

Oh it’s sad to see her go. Call me insane but maestro Helmut Lang (though I desperately want him at Armani 🤭).
Maybe Soshiotsuki is a good option though I don’t think LVMH would let him work at the rival conglomerate. Pls not that Kim Jones…

HEDI SLIMANE.

I loved her work tbh and own a lot of Hermes rtw bc I love the fit. Its really good because it has that neutral look.

I'm an slimaniac too, but I don't see Hedi in this brand. Although his biggest income comes from leather accessories, I highly doubt he'll be able to do anything with knitwear, wool, and cashmere. Because, honestly, her more grunge-y take on sweaters and cardigans was exhausting.

Who got next?
maybe the French lady who is the current CD at Loro Piana ? Forgot her name.
I m honestly tired at Hermès RTW, because it's usually good quality clothes having a sole twist: leather or suede trims or panels. Yes we get it, you're a leather company, but can you do clothes without trim on every pockets ? I just hate mixed materials clothes with a passion.

Véronique should suggest to Dumas to hire her friend Bouchra Jarad in the womenswear.
The menswear needs someone modern. Veronique was modern in her attitude towards menswear but her clothes were very dated looking with those unnecessary details and odd colors.

It will likely be a French person.
Just like Chanel. They are used to their ways and the direct communication between the designers and the ateliers/craftpeople is very important.
Not that they never had international people in the studio but I can sense them going for a French person again.

French menswear designers (I'm familiar with) that are currently avaiable: Hedi Slimane, Nicolas Andreas Taralis. Alexandre Vauthier should get womenswear (he's from Gaultier so...).

There are plenty French designers available for that job in Hermes alone. I think she might suggested her right hand or someone akin to that (head of studio? Etc.). Suggesting Slimane is as preposterous as it is insulting. In which world would he agree to do just the menswear while looking at someone else doing womenswear and potentially couture ? Plz. There are also some laughable rumours about Kim Jones. Guys, let’s be serious 🤪
