The first Russian designer to be accepted to the Paris Fashion Syndicate, Valentin Yudashkin is a celebrity both at home and abroad. He is always trying to make the beauty of Russian culture shine through his creations, which is perhaps why he was chosen to design the Russian team uniforms for the Atlanta Olympic Games. His collections, some of which are exhibited in the Louvre Museum and the International Olympic Museum, are inspired by Russian culture.

last four looks (edit: i meant post #3) are not too beautiful... but the whole thing looks like a "more daring"-creative armani prive because of the construction of the jackets, and collars, and materials, etc...

wow very interesting  i really enjoyed looking at the pics

since nobody is tating their opinions, i am rethinking mine...

first looks are ok... i still say they are "daring/barroque/overthetop-armani"

night gowns are too much

hair styling doesnt look right...

i so wanna see a bit more (other seasons, other work) to get a bit more perspective of where he is heading, it's always interesting to see new members in the Paris Fashion Sindicate

I love several pieces. If only I were an actress so I could wear them on the red carpet...

This designer has talent! Not every designer can be Galliano or should be.

I'm not quite sure. I am on the fence with this one. The hair in between right and dead-wrong. The dresses towards the end are ugly, but the suits are fantastic! I love the buttons and jewels!

Overall I'm not too impressed. The palette isn't particularly refreshing, I mean it doesn't offer anything new to couture, I guess it's predictable.
I really like some the use of chiffon and then structural impressiveness of pieces such as the jacket in one of the earlier posts. The night gowns, for the most part, are dull, dull, dull and, well, quite tacky, especially the revealing ones.

I have to admit I have very little understanding of russian culture so I can't quite judge whether Yudashkin achieves his aim.
