This collection sucks. The tailoring is awful, the fit is awful, everything is awful. The only thing I like is the red ballgown, and that's it. And it's a simple ballgown. Really? That's it? That's what you design? A red ballgown? MGC and PPP have no understanding of the house's heritage, DNA, anything. It sucks. I miss when the critics were honest and said what they felt, rather than suck up to these houses because they're the top tier of shows to sit at. Because if they were nowadays, these people would constantly be slammed. I will agree that the craftsmanship is phenomenal. But that's because of the women who work their fingers to the bone on these clothes. And I'm not saying in any way that I actually like the design of the things they're crafting. I'm saying the craftsmanship itself is amazing. There is no personal story in Valentino's collections now. Valentino was constantly inspired by the glamourous movies he saw from the thirties with those magical musical number with the most glamourous dresses. That's what makes a great designer, someone who's able to make it a personal story as well as a regular story. These people can put as many historical references in their collections, but they will never be great designers. In the eloquent words of Sweet Brown
