The one thing I loved about Valentino before was how unpretentious it was. They knew what they had and they ran with it. Nowdays, all these vague poses, blank stares, black and white photography, etc, don't know what they're trying to do.
I agree about it looking clueless - let alone trite. Actually the surroundings hold my attention far more than Julia's vapid stare and slackened-looking pose. I hold out hope that Freja and possibly Caroline's personality will shine out so they bring some actual substance to the campaign. I may be being premature because Julia may have been commended to look that way (and we'll only know once the other images leak out), but she has always seemed to me like a very pretty but painfully depthless girl, so I'm not really surprised by her lack of presence here and therefore the hollowness of this first shot.
This is my valentino but for what the new valentino is now then this is bad, too.
It looks like a candid taken backstage last season.
I don't like the casting but I have to say that it fits the collection.
& I don't know about you,but from the first time I saw this collection it reminded me of Lisa Simpson's pink dress.... http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lespq9gWO11qcp47ho1_400.jpg fanpop.com
Wow, the whole campaign is just beautiful I love how Freja gets to show her soft and cheerful side much more this season. Julia looks stunning and even Caroline whom I don't like that much as a model looks wonderful!
ETA: Also, I think the collection looks more beautiful in the ads than it did on the runway. The fabrics look so soft and delicate in the pictures and the dresses look very flattering on the models. I really love this.
