Valentino S/S 2013 Paris

I don't care how many times they've shown those shapes and silhouettes before, as long as the collection looks so heavenly beautiful and exquisite as this one I'm totally fine with it.

Totally agree. I love it, it is so so beautiful.

Well, I almost fell asleep. I don't have a problem with the the cuts and silhouettes because they're beautiful. Its the color palette that reminds me of a dreary day in February. Actually that can actually describe the houses current aesthetic.

I don't care if it's repetitive, it's classy and beautiful as hell.

they used to be so good when they first started, lots of fresh ideas and now they just produce this for the past three seasons...zzz

I really love the first 5 or 6 looks, as they're so clean, spare, modern; however, I could do without some of the "nightgown" or 70s "little-girl-on-the-prairie" looks.

Still, there are some lovely dresses here, no doubt about it.

It´s so boring that i couldn´t wait for the end. Nothing special at all, not even that beautiful.

It's just like D&G, they present the same thing every season. Yet people don't complain so much about Valentino: it's classic, refined, chic, so we tend to tolerate it. At least the italian brand shocks by its motifs and contrasts. Valentino, on the other hand, appeals by its neutrality and classicism, but there is no such thing as creativity here, just tamed homy craft/technique and fear - that paralyzes - of the smallest subversion. It sells the way it is, you know.

I couldn't agree more. Yes, we've seen the cuts before but this collection is still very beautiful. The details are magnificent.

they are stunning, chic, wearable clothes. am i blown away? no. but i didn't expect to be.

Am I the only one who thinks the 1st look is the weakest in this collection...

I've grown respect by how they evolve in their own sphere.. despite how intolerable it's become the idea of seeing a designer not revamping à la Tisci every 6 months. I love that besides the accused 'sameness', their construction and attention to detail hasn't weakened once since they got appointed and they will integrate a few elements that help them move forward but mostly as accents, they're still exploring and trying to establish an aesthetic and working with the legacy of Valentino, whom I hope is enjoying this..

Their Valentino woman has actually grown a lot on me... The collection was really lovely and classy. People should take a lot before saying everything is the same season after season, I could definetely see some differences.

Valentino knows their customer base and caters to it well. They had hints of minimalism but they have kept their DNA. I think this is a strong collection, to take retro elements and make them fresh and appealing is no easy task and they have succeeded very well in that respect. I mean fashion critiques may grovel over Dior but If I have $10000 I want to invest in a dress which says class and luxury and Valentino's dresses do that in spades.

Thank you. People are saying that Maria Grazia & Pier Paolo have been doing always the same old same old, and that they could just leave, but as long as they keep doing such well-made, perfectly tailored and embellished, lovely clothes like these, they aren't going anywhere.

If it looks this good and people are still buying then they're at least doing something right. I love Valentino clothes.
