It's a bit like they took everything that Versace is associated with, cranked it up to 11 and used everything at once. I just don't think doing tight, bright, super-short, printed, patchworked and embellished was the right way to go. The elements on their own are so potent that there has to be something to balance it all out.

Too much used at once (on the daywear) and i can definitely see that when i look at the HQ's. Versace has been going for the clean and minimal look lately but Donatella has kinda messed that pattern up with this collection. Even the shoes look too overdone IMO. There can be incredible detail.....and then you can overkill it.


It's kinda strange really because even when i look at the collection now, i still think it doesn't feel very "Versace" it just seems more like another brand.

While the popular opinion is that the show is great, I am going to have to dissent. I am really surprised in the sea change amongst tfsers (or is it just fashion in general). To me, this collection is really reminiscent of Donatella's pre-rehab collections. I remember she was torn to shreds by folks here over the same work that she is being adored for now. IDK, I agree with the person that said it looked like trashy Escada. Its just bad.

the shoes are deliciously ****** though. I am sure they will end up on Gaga's feet very soon.

This whole collection is like a nod to the retro-era of years past. I could envision many of these looks in the Austin Powers movies.

I do like that its young and fresh, but the collection as a whole is not doing it for me. The gowns surprisingly are my least favourite part. Most I find to be unflattering and well if it can't look good coming down a runway then it's going to be pretty darn hard to pull off irl.

Donatella marry me!! The collection is surprisingly short! In fact this is actually what I expected Christopher Kane to do for Versus. Donatella usually focusses on giving the more mature woman a tonne of attitude and predator-personality in her collections, but this time it's all about dressing down, being young and looking carefree, which is I think why the cast is so weird. I mean come on!! Abbey Lee opened VERSACE! Wtf!

I like this. It's very different. It's like Versace (02-03) but so much better. The gowns are as usual, gorgeous! The prints are fun and very lively.

My only issue is that I think it lacks glamour. We're used to Versace being so glamorous and sexy. This is just so different. Overall, I still like it.
