Vertiginous Platforms F/W 06.07 & S/S 07

I see the Spring 06 all over the place (which I have) but what about Fall 06 shoes? When do they hit the stores?

I've always loved platforms

I actually like the balenciaga ones :ninja: They'll definatly make more manejable ones when they hit stores, I think the s/s were wearable but they even lowered those. The balenciagas and chloes are my favorite.

Here are a few that I love that haven't been posted. All pics from style.com.

These look so good with short, voluminous skirts; I thought I wouldn't like them before I considered the possibilities, but now I can't imagine a subverted doll-like look without them :P I'm reminded so much of both Gothic Lolita and an editorial I remember from a rather recent issue of Bazaar, in which the footwear of choice were platforms from such labels as you might spot in a fetish shop  But the styling and other such adaptations permitted the release of that connotation; it was an eye-opening moment, and a defining one for les platforms. Or something. :innocent:
and I'm not exactly tall, so I can't rightly use everyone's favourite dismissal, 'I'm not in need of platforms, not today,' anyhow...

I like the looks GG posted I wear these kind of shoes myself.

But not when it's done to the extreme like the Balenciaga's posted.

Normally I don't like platforms, but I have started to adapt to them. And they are actually quite fab when paired with a babydoll dress, as jennifer mentioned. some shorts, a tulip skirt with pockets etc. So it really depends on the styling. I don't think I will ever wear them, but I don't mind looking at them :P ^_^
But perhaps I should try wearing them, they will do wonders to my height.

I meant to say specific height a girl who's 5'10 , 5'11 would look like giant with the balenciagas or other ones..

i dont like platforms too much but with all the huge dresses and fashions out , these are the only type of shoes which pair them down. stilettoes would get lost and overwhelmed.

i like chloe and ysl ones  those balenciaga ones are just simply ugly

I love the unusal shapes and textures of the current platforms. I think shoes have become the focus of a style of dressing.

The Balenciaga IRL are amazing and not so high as the runway version. Below are verisons by McQueen and Hardy that I really like.

btw...i saw the balenciaga platform ankle boots at neiman marcus last weekend, and they're gorgeous in person...
not as high as the runway versions (of course), but the same basic shape...
i believe the heel was 4.5"...

yeah gorgeous ...it makes your feet look like it was twisted in a wreck

I am really suprised, but Shellys have a gorgeous pair of red platform wedges that are perfect to wear with smock dresses and wooley tights!

I don't know about the Balenciaga's, when I first saw them I thought they looked like shoes Frankenstein would own & I can't seem to get that image out of my head so there's no way I could ever wear them & feel the least bit flattering, but I am loving the Chloes & YSL platforms especially with the ribbed tights!
