tFS F/W 06.07 Inspiration

And I want to get out of these damned Levi's I'm always wearing! I def. need to make me some black wool trousers! Slightly wide, but no pleats.

Trousers are great especially worn slightly wide like you mentioned...I don't mind pleats at all if done right.

But as far as wearing jeans goes, I'm progressing towards the opposite of you...I'm tryin to wear these one pair of raw denim jeans as much as I can so they become a second skin or something, I just want to wear a pair of jeans to death and see as they age naturally and follow me with every step of my life B)

Overall I'm still sticking to my classic-but-modern approach to style, but just expanding the vocabulary with different pieces in fabrics, cuts, whatever...

I definitely like the masculinity of the season. I will mix it up with some other things though such as a pair of wide-leg trousers with a Victorian blouse. I also will be stocking up on black everything and I will dye my hair darker.

As far as the watches go, I got a stainless steel one for Christmas (nothing much just a $20 watch) and it is a lifesaver. I have an off-campus class where I don't have access to a clock most of the time as well as the clocks at school tend to go wonky.

I really think that more designers should have taken some risks because most things seemed the same.

And Alexander McQueen is king of all.

I'd love a pair of black military-inspired pants (yes - still stuck in Balenciaga SS05). They'd be great with a black bustier top for evening or an oversize cashmere sweater for day.

I'd also like a pair of slim black wool pants because I have great legs -_- Also for day w/some layering with that cashmere sweater I still haven't bought. Dammit.

And that oversize cashmere sweater:

And, of course, I love tulip skirts. I'd wear them with 3/4 sleeved jackets and cardigans.

And for those disgustingly cold days I'd turn to layering w/lots of skirts, oversized cardigans, tights and knitted legwarmers - love those knitted ones from SportMax and Alexander McQueen.

I'd love a bustier (isn't it called that?) dress in gold, black or blue for going out or just feeling pretty.

I don't think there's much new for fall. I'll probably get very bored of the volume-thing. There are some nice pices, but I'm not very excited.

it's way too soon for me to really know. I do know though that I will definitely be continuing to build upon what I started this year...folkish fantasy and highland hippieism... inspirations are of highland folk culture with a modern (slightly eh, new agey...minimal) twist thrown in...very very celtic.

I am very inspired by mcqueen's collection, though I feel like it is more of a reflection of what I've already been doing than where I am going. nevertheless, there will be lots and lots of draped tartan for me, mixed and layered as well. I am veering away from victoriana/edwardiana...I want my look to be more homespun and handmade...more rustic.

ta-ta--the secret is to ship it all back....then you don't pay tax:wink: see you in NY:flower:

Ahhh ... very interesting, utopia ^_^ I would say the same is very true of me, just hadn't thought of it that way ...

Another thing that appeals to me right now is topstitching on leather or fabric ... definitely part of the crafted/handmade theme ... but I absolutely *hate* the Chloe Edith bag, except for the large stitches ... ugly as homemade sin comes to mind :ninja:

Thanks for the tip, purechris :flower: Now there's the little matter of justifying the plane ticket to myself

leather pants from a label called cross or something

I'm still figuring out spring myself, so I don't have much on my mind in the way of fall except I LOVE the baggy slouchy trousers that are showing up everywhere!! Think Marni & Zaldy...

Definitely on my list in a charcoal gray

Just thought I'd mention that I found out the Sportmax dress I liked is being produced and has been ordered for me

However, Sportmax runs awfully small--you have to go up a size or two  Hopefully the 10 lbs I'm in the middle of losing will ensure I will be able to not only get into it but use it as a layering piece (the skirt is unlined so you have to wear something under it). I was thinking of layering it over another dress or skirt or slip for work, and over leggings for the weekend ...

If anyone has any tips for me on where to get a plain, shell-topped dress for layering, I'd appreciate it :flower: Maybe J Crew??

^ or Banana. They're always good for basics too

Does it have to be a dress though? Will a basic slip be too obvious or not provide enough coverage?

^ Well, your guess is as good as mine since all I've seen is the picture  But it's an openwork crochet skirt, and I banned slips some years ago so I don't own one ... so I'll be buying something specifically for this dress (assuming it works and I keep it).

Bugger!!! Just found out they decided not to produce that dress after all, after they'd given me a price and asked for a size to order for me and everything ... :o So now she's checking on a couple other lace pieces, but I'm a bit worried that they're not making any of it ... or if they are that it wasn't bought for the US

Well, the inspiration is still there  If they don't produce it, maybe you can re-create the feel with some other pieces

I hope so  Lace is difficult though ...

Just thought I'd bump this ... can you believe I'm already thinking about next spring? :D

Fashionista-ta - love these boots (below) - Celine from Style.com. I agree croc is going to be massive FW06/07. I also am feeling a lot of fur (luxury ones - chinchilla, sable), over-stitching will be there.

As for me.. I'll be wearing the usual "colours".. predominantly black with a splash of white at times..

I'm quite inspired by the Number (N)ine show.. so perhaps I'll be wearing full on black... Also, I'm intrigued by Ann Demeulemeester's collection and Raf Simons', so I'll draw some inspiration from them as well. ^_^
