Victoria Beckham received the Emerging British Luxury Brand prize.
VICTORIA BECKHAM, Mulberry, and Alexander McQueen were among the British brands honoured at last night's Walpole Awards in London.
Mulberry was honoured in the British Luxury Overseas category; Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen collected the British Luxury Design Talent award; whilst Victoria Beckham received the Emerging British Luxury Brand prize.
"This year's award winners represent the very best of luxury talent and we are delighted to be able to recognise their outstanding achievements," Julia Carrick, ceo of Walpole, said. "The British Luxury industry continues to perform exceptionally well and has grown significantly, with London now the third largest international luxury market in the world. Through incredibly challenging economic times, the luxury sector is showing great resilience and we are confident that it will continue to flourish."
Other winners included men's online shop Mr Porter, which was named the best British Luxury Brand Online; Church's English Shoes, which won Best British Craftsmanship; and Selfridges' eco initiative, Project Ocean, which was awarded the Corporate Social Responsibility prize.
"I love the element of feminine sportswear," says Victoria Beckham of the influences seen in her spring/summer 2012 collection. "We really pushed ourselves with the fabrics. Everything is very me - I would wear it all."
