i'm speaking about elements in current womenswear...not seeing a whole lot of corsets on the runways...or on the street...

And what about the menswear? Quite honestly,it is one of my favorite period's in men's clothing. The best example of a comtemporary designer utilizing elements from that era is Cloak. I think this is why I relate so much to alot of women's stuff of today as so many of them take certain key elements from menswear then.

The best part of Victoriana was the decadence. The drama of structure and the delicacy & intricacy of embellishment.

I work in a Victorian themed theme park and I constantly work in clothes you also see in movies like Amadeus...I wish I could wear it all day, I look devine in em

glad you brought it up, scott. I love victorian inspired menswear...and the real thing as well. I found some images from the v&a yesterday when I was posting the above ones... I'll post them now.

I adore that first blazer,Utopia

I tell you, another thing I like are children's school uniforms. I saw some pieces on ebay once from a seller in UK and I almost got something just to study a bit. I love the way clothes were made in those days.

I lvoe edwardian and victorian clothes, so beautiful and romantic

Ignoring the fact that there's several centuries between those styles. :innocent:

This seems to have a Victorian feel to it, but I'm not sure...what do the Victorian/Edwardian era experts think?
