Vintage Magazine Discussion Thread

^You're totally agree with you, i'm very sorry, i had a bad behaviour for saying stupid thinks that don't make sense, i just want than the users , includes me we have all the respect on here & support. :)

Well, i mean than i start to put the credits of the scan of a single photo in my tumblr, just only post the link that came from here & the other sites, but i don't write the owner of these scans of magazines.

Is an advertisement of all, because have many problems of the copyright of the real photographs.

I don't think I completely understood what you wanted to say but I don't think Cesar thinks that he is the "boss" and I don't think he posts so much because he wants to have more posts than you! I personally love to wake up in the morning and check this sub-forum and find out that he (or basically anyone) has posted something new.

I think he deserves some respect for his posts and I certainly don't think the rest of us are in any way the "support team"! We all have our jobs and personal life and I think we do more than enough to get magazines and post them on here. Don't forget that we all have to pay for our magazines (which are very pricey) and I can't do nothing but thank Cesar and Kelly for all the money they spend so we can see all these scans.

I don't want to judge you for your opinions but you shouldn't be ungrateful. I doubt anyone would spend so much money and time just to compete with someone on an Internet forum.

^I really understand why i write that thing for no trinking well, i agree than you said, i'm grateful with Kelly & Cesar for their scans & share them on here. The real reason is than i can't post any think on the forum, because i have a life in the university, so i just log in when i have time.

Once again, i'm very sorry for write that & hope than you guys want to apologize with me, just i want respect & forget all this message, ok. :flower:

My scans

Hi,

Sorry I've been absent these past few months. My desktop broke, but my scanner didn't. I'm free for the next few days so off back to the spot I go!

¿What's the most important fashion mag of your own country?

I live in Argentina (South América) and the most important fashion mag is "Para Ti back in the days they used to buy Elle france archive images for some editorials and covers (specially in the 80s) so is not uncommon to see Elle MacPherson, Claudia, Linda, Yasmin on their covers. Of course they are plenty of local top models.
In 90s specially middle and late 90s, the magazine started to make their own covers and editos with international supermodels and celebrities.

And what it all comes down to? I want you to tell me what's the most important mag in your country.

Argentina: Para Ti

Chile: Paula

yours??? :)

I've heard of Para Ti and I would really like to see some of its archives!

The most popular magazine in my country (Bulgaria) is probably Cosmopolitan or Grazia. Women here don't buy these magazines for the editorials, they buy it for the info on cosmetics, health and celebrities. There aren't a lot of people who appreciate the photoshoots. Grazia magazine is a little too expensive but it always comes with a gift (purses or makeup) and that's why a lot of women buy it. We didn't have magazines like Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, etc. in the 90s so women did a lot in order to buy some German/Italian issues of those magazines as well as Burda and Verena.

I've been trying for a few years now to find out if we have a Bulgarian Vogue (since we've had Harper's Bazaar and ELLE for years now) but with no luck so far.

RosieNikolaeva I recently buy 100 issues of Para Ti from 90s in an auction. I promise I'm going to scan the covers and editos with the most international recognizable models.

In 90s appeared VOGUE Argentina: 1993 to 2002. Editor in chieff: Eva Hughes.

Australia has many magazines that incorporate fashion; beauty; culture; art; movies; music & health for women. If you asked people in the industry which is the most important the answer would probably be VOGUE, but I think it depends on your age & attitude to life that makes a magazine important to you. The first magazine a girl buys as a teen is dolly & girlfriend. Cleo & Cosmo are the usual trashy magazines that masquerade as 'feminism'. Russh; yen & Frankie are for 'independent women'. Frankie regularly wins Australian Media Awards etc. Marie Claire; Instyle; Elle; Bazaar & Vogue are typical of their particular well known brands. Personally I have loved every single one of these magazines as I grew up but I now have aged out & don't feel that any of these magazines is for me. But I have great nostalgia for them all.

Vogue, Elle, Cosmo, Marie Claire, Harper's, Glamour... They are more like "international" (we have them too) but my question is more about Local fashion mags with several years of history.

Para ti was released in 1922, the editorial (named Atlantida) was created in 1918. The owner is Argentinian.

Kelles said that, if you've got to tell what's the most important local australian fashion mag, what would you say? Cleo?

I guess in the United States, Vogue is its most important fashion magazine and has been published since 1892.

Marie Claire for France, and that's the sense of my question. It has to be local not worldwide.

Oh, I guess I didn't understand the question! I think the most famous local magazine in my country is Eva, it's been on the market since 1998 but I guess people don't buy it as much as the international magazines. This right here is the first issue from November 1998:

The fashion magazines in my country, who are popular are "Vanidades", "Kena", "Tú" (teen mag) & many more. For example, my older sister collected the "Tú" mag of the 80's & some of the 90's, but she doesn't have them on these days, well, i few.

I remember, when i was between 8 or 10 years, i bought some issues of "Eres", another popular mag in Mexico, on these, they were publishing, some reprints editorials from Elle France, i notice than one issue, i saw an ed with Shana Zadrick wearing lingerie, the whole editorial is amazing, i saw them again in Bellazon, from the original mag.

Burbujas8910, except "Kena", we have those other magazines you mentioned since 90s for sure. "Vanidades" is the most recognized regional (whole latin america) fashion magazine with editions in several countries. Am I right?

^Yes, you're right.

Mexican edition of Cosmopolitan (mostly), Harper's Bazaar, Elle & Vogue are the most important fashion mags in my country.
