This is appalling.

Not surprised at all. There is a new trend in fashion and it's called desperation.
I don't want to be happy about him because he is black and i am black. I would have been happy if he was black AND talented. I have to admit that his menswear is less awful than his womenswear. Will see in June.
Well well well, see how far you can go with a ton of ambition and half an ounce of talent...he obviously worked hard for that and, all things considered, he can do no harm in such a niche place as LV menswear, where half or more of the looks you see on the catwalk don't make it to production. Let's face it, real designers like Nicolas and Kim Jones are wasted there, the brand is a marketing machine so let them have marketing people to run the design team.
I saw his designs and his clothing is fresh and urban, his shoe designs were very successful. I feel he is actually more in touch with the youth than most menswear designers and will be very successful. I am more skeptical of Slimane's Celine.
He most certainly is. If there's one thing I like about Virgil is that in this sea of designers and phony luxury brands trying to mask themselves and young & urban, he's the only one with authenticity and authority. At least they'll be getting what they want straight from the source.
Congrats to him. This is a big moment for fashion (and culture). A true "started from the bottom now we're here". He's a hard worker and paid his dues. I'm really excited to see what he'll produce.
With Virgil, Riccardo, Kim and Hedi all debuting next season, menswear is getting exciting again. Let's end thos co-ed stuff please!
