Vogue Australia January 2022 : Adut Akech by Charlie Dennington

That’s a lovely cover!

Adut looks beautiful and she's bringing a joyous energy. There's movement, the styling is eye catching (even if I don't actually like it, at least it's not dull) , and the colors pop. Vogue Australia rarely produces memorable covers these days, but this is very good.

Where has she been? It feels like she was everywhere at one point and then suddenly she wasn't anymore. It's great to see her again, she looks beautiful as ever and the cover is indeed very joyous and eye catching. The styling is giving a little H&M but who am I to judge? Would totally wear that sweater just to flail my arms around, it looks like so much fun.

I was saying the exact same thing two days ago. Glad to see her pop up again.

I love the atmosphere of the cover she looks great but also so young her I dont know how to describe it like she looks almost like a teen love the hair nice to see some change

I love this magazine doing it great again. She looks gorgeous.

Again? So boring! Why not other Australian models? How about Aylah Peterson? She is a muse for Anthony Vaccarello at YSL and is also currently the face of Atelier Versace. Or Abbey Lee Kershaw, who was modelling all year and also featured in a main role in M. Night Shyamalan's film Old this year.

The only model Vogue Australia EIC knows. Not even Australian
I sometimes, like in this case, actually prefer the American Vogue strategy of using the same models over and over until they're memorable enough, easily recognizable to a generation and able to capture a time in fashion. When you've seen some truly questionable models (from Trentini to Trish Goff and even Karen Elson) given that treatment and securing stardom despite not possessing minimal charisma in some cases, I honestly don't mind someone that's actually gorgeous like Adut. I'm not really into models so I don't feel any of the saturation that's often brought up.

Also not a DIBP officer (and hey, maybe you are) but it seems to me that much like Nicole Kidman, she was born elsewhere, spent the beginning of her formative years elsewhere before finally spending the rest of her development in Australia. No one says Mel Gibson isn't Australian even though he wasn't born there and moved there as a preteen. I don't know, nationalities, who cares.

Not really into the cover but like the feel-good energy to it, much needed for January.

I don´t like the styling but I like the summery vibe

I actually like this. Very refreshing!

As someone who can't usually share the love for Adut, she does look great here and it is a nice cover. The fonts and typography overall are sh1t though.

Finally a model on the cover of Vogue Australia, it's very refreshing this image on every January issue.

From the cover I assumed the photo shoot was outdoors. Another assumption I made was that the cover story would be good. What an idiot.
