Vogue Australia January 2022 : Adut Akech by Charlie Dennington

Adut poses some kind of out of this world beauty - she is literally the only SUPERmodel of this new generation, which is based on the numbers of their social media followers and/or their famous parents, cousins and whatnot; basically everything else except their extraordinary look and modelling skills.

Again? So boring! Why not other Australian models? How about Aylah Peterson? She is a muse for Anthony Vaccarello at YSL and is also currently the face of Atelier Versace.

I'm unable to understand how Vogue Australia hasn't had Aylah Peterson on their cover yet - or even on its pages. It didn't take long for Harper's Bazaar Australia and Nicole Bentley to give Aylah the recognition she deserves, and rightly so. Australian Vogue are extremely late to the party!

I like Adut Akech, always love seeing her on runways and scoring magazine covers but this is far from Adut's finest moment down the newsstand (British Vogue by Steven Meisel being the one to beat). I despise how the 'Australia' is missing from the masthead here and the overall composition.
