I really like Julia's editorial. This is the first time that she appealed to me, in print or runway.

Totally agree with you here. This is the first time that I've seen some kind of intrigue and beauty in her face and relative lack of expression. Beautiful story; have to be on the lookout for Stephen Ward from now on.

Julia's edit is really sublime, it stopped me in my tracks as I was flicking through today. That's what makes a great fashion editorial. Pastoral is an age-old theme but it always seems to work in springtime (i know, i know, 'florals for spring? groundbreaking'). This is a really good issue. The front of book is great, the layout is really eye-catching on every page, and even though there's a bit of reprinting it didn't bother as much as it usually does. Pluuussss the free nailpolish was a massive bonus.

The only thing for me is that I feel it was totally unnecessary to have two cara editorials. I get that she's 'queen of cool' or whatever but that's just overkill. Either David Bailey's or Benny Horne's would have sufficed, not both of them.

Can we just stop and gush over Jillian Davison for a second. I would have sworn this Stephen Ward piece was a Will Davidson, and it's pretty obvious that she is the common denominator. Being such a strong stylist that you start making photographers work look alike is quite alarming. This is going to be something interesting to watch unfold in the future. Maybe she should jump behind the camera, and get all the glory.

This is my favourite issue by the new Vogue Aus guard thus far (finally!).

I like the two editorials of Cara by two different photographers - I can't decide which I prefer, the Bailey one or the Benny Horne one. And definitely my best fave ed of Julia Nobis to date.

I just have to b*tch though, that I'm getting sick of my Vogue subscription arriving days after it's appeared in the local newsagents. And subscribers miss out on free nail polish! Vogue arrives late, AND no freebies. I don't feel special as a subscriber anymore. Plus, I subscribed again right when they stopped doing subscriber copies. *sniff* *hhhhmmmph!* *foot stamp!*

When I had a subscription last (about 2ish years ago?), my copy used to arrive in the mail days and days before it hit the newsstands, and it was a thrill. The tiny, tiny, pathetic smug satisfaction of getting Vogue days before everybody else! Yep, as in fashion I guess, it's the small things that count. :p
