Vogue Covers - Who Should and Shouldn't?

I think only models of the past or present or really fashion forward people. Some actresses do well, like Nicole Kidman and Sienna Miller but actresses like Angelina Jolie ,Drew B. and others definetly shouldn't.They have no style,Angelina doesnt care about fashion at all.Read any of her interviews, she makes a pretty picture but should NEVER be in the ultimate fashion mag or any fashion mag.
I'd like to see Kake Moss on the cover with Gemma
I'd cringe if I have to see Jessica and Ashley Simpson on the cover together or apart
I completely agree...that's why I don't mind people like gwen stefani (her mother even cried w/ joy when gwen told her she was going to be on the cover...both are into making clothes) or nicole kidman. But stars like drew barrymore, oh hell no because this girl doen't even care about style and designers etc.:yuk:

OOO I really love Sienna and that is a beautiful cover! The UK editions always have way more interesting photographs for the cover than the US issues.

I think models and actresses can share covers 50-50.

Actress covers are generally very bland these days (save W occassionally), but I am not too thrilled about the models who have the strongest prospects of making the US cover either: Daria Werbowy, Isabeli Fontana, Karen Elson, Liya Kebede, Carmen Kass, Karolina Kurkova, and Caroline Trentini. Their work in US Vogue is SO routine.

Models that I do want to see, with photographers on contract with Conde Nast:
Julia Stegner (ph: Raymond Meier)
Diana Dondoe, Elise Crombez (ph: Steven Meisel)
Natalia Vodianova (ph: Patrick Demarchelier)
Gemma Ward (ph: Craig McDean)
and of course, Gisele Bundchen (ph: Mario Testino)

As for celebrities, I have a couple on my short list:
Keira Knightley, Kate Beckinsale, Stephanie Seymour, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz, Thandie Newton.

Zhang Ziyi can make Elle first.

Kate Winslet has never had a Vogue cover. Not that I think she's a style maven, but she's a better choice than Drew Barrymore or Liv Tyler.

A couple categories for SHOULDN'Ts:

Fifteen-minute famers: Mischa Barton, Jessica Simpson, Sienna Miller, Kate Bosworth, Lindsay Lohan, Emmy Roussem [sp]

Over your quirks: Chloe Sevingy, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sofia Coppola, Selma Blair, Vanessa Paradis, Christina Ricci, Charlotte Gaithersburg

Just so embarrassingly overexposed: Sarah Jessica Parker, Renee Zellweger, Beyonce Knowles, Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Catherine Zeta-Jones

The UK editions always have way more interesting photographs for the cover than the US issues.
Well I have to disagree about this, not because I think VOGUE UK is bad but because most of the covers of VOGUE UK come directly from the US edition(I guess they do this because the English and the Americans share a common language)

vogue uk covers are quiet similar to the other vogue uk covers, they always have a white background to the cover it never changes.

US vogue is one step away from just being another tabloid magazine what with how celeb obsessed they are. I never thought I would say it but I dont trust US vogue anymore :ninja: theyve lost their sense of style and class....

That´s true, but we will always have VOGUE italia/paris/españa. And the thing of TEEN VOGUE is just ridiculous, they try to sell the american teenagers that Versus and Missoni rocks and that wearing a LV bag will make them special

I do dislike this trend of having actresses on the US Vogue covers. I think only GREAT actresses should be on the cover not two minute movie toppers (ex. Lindsay Lohan). Models are okay but they aren't a very diverse bunch. Combining both aspects is good though.

I'd like to see :

For actresses:
Catherine Zeta Jones
Cate Blanchett

For models:
Hana S
Eugenia V.
(And PLEASE no Gisele. Time for someone new.)

The sad thing is that VOGUE regularly ponders why models are not in anymore. Remember the Editor Letter for the model cover in September?

VOGUE questions why no one is interested in models anymore. Well, VOGUE, you just can't sit there and expect something to happen without trying. Seriously, if they want the model thing back, start acting like it.

in my opinion, I think VOGUE is a fashion magazine so models are supposed to be on the cover....but somehow now all actresses are on every issues... like these 2 lastest one with Sandra B. and Drew Barrymore... They just have movies coming out so that they're on the cover...it's so ********... I'd rather see models on it
I agree

I much prefer to see models on the cover of vogue. However if the actress/singer has a strong sense of style then I wouldn't mind. I have no problem with people like Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Vanessa Paradis or Jennifer Connelly on Vogue.

However if any of these were on the British Vogue cover I might stop buying it
Jessica Simpson
Paris Hilton
Mischa Barton
Victoria Beckham
Katie Holmes
Beyonce
Angelina Jolie

I'd LOVE to see these models on the cover
Jeisa Chiminazzo
Hana Soukupova
Heather Marks
Tiiu Kuik
Solange Wilvert
Julia Stegner

Emmy Rossum needs to be on the cover of Vogue! She is so classicly beautiful and talented.
I agree, she's one of my faves. She's got a grace and beauty that give her a sense of maturity far beyond her years, and she remindds me a bit of old hollywood. Plus she's so talented. She has an incredable singing voice, and she's veritile in her acting. I've seen her hold her own in everything from drama, to romance, to comedy, to action.

I really seee no problem with actresses being on magazine covers. If models can be in movies, why can't actresses be on magazines?

That said, there are some I'd rather see than others-
Should:
Emmy Rossum
Claire Danes (again)
Nicole Kidman (again)
Cate Bleanchett (again)
Thandie Newton
Audrey Tatou
Virginie Ledoyen
Gwyneth Paltrow (again)
Natalie Portman
Selma Blair
Vanessa Paradis

Shouldn't:
Jessica Simpson
Britney Spears
Renee Zellwegger
Katie Holmes
Mischa Barton
Paris or Nicki Hilton
Nicole Ritchie
Beyonce
Jennifer Lopez
Hilary Duff
Lindsey Lohan
Kate Bosworth
