Vogue Covers - Who Should and Shouldn't?

I'd like to see a more diverse cast..I'm sorry but one minority person per 12 issues is sad and under-representative of all the cultures, people and items that make fashion what it is today. How very un-vogue.

Shouldn't
Actresses (especially starlets)
So-called Celebrities (Paris and the likes)

Should
Models (any of them)

Should:
Selma Blair
Victoria Traina
Jennifer Garner

Shouldnt:
Paris Hilton
Any reality TV star
Hilary Duff
Britney Spears
Christina Aguilera
Beyonce
Gwen Stefani

SHOULD:
Vanessa Paradis: I would love to see her recognised as something other than Johnny's girlfriend
Scarlett Johansson
Cate Blanchett
Kate Moss
Gemma Ward

SHOULDN'T
Mischa Barton: Bleh
Lindsay Lohan
Nicole Richie
Jessica Simpson
Nicole Kidman: i read that she was saving all her red carpet outfits to be donated to a museum when she dies. Get over yourself Nicole. Your stylist does a good job, but nothing earth shattering.
Paris Hilton: I was furious when she made the US Vanity Fair Cover.

Yes, I definitely would love to see Vanessa Paradis on the cover!!! And Kate Moss (maybe pictured with Lila) making her post-rehab comeback. Those two would make for amazing interviews/cover articles as well. I really, really enjoy reading the articles when a celebrity is on the cover.

As far as other models are concerned.. I'd love to see Cintia Dicker on the cover.

Tom Ford too...that's a great suggestion. Has there ever been a man alone on the cover of Vogue?

I didn't see it can you post it or find it?

Shouldn't: Colleen Mcloughlin (totally wrong spelling:(angry:

I am eternally thankful that UK Vogue had good sense and chose Cate Blanchett for the cover instead.

I still can't believe she got a whole feature on her anyway:innocent:

I am Never Ever buying American Vogue again!
I quit.

Never again:
Anything like what they've been doing lately.

Covers that may change my mind-

An illustration... sort of a revival of the wonderful cover art that used to be so common in the 1920s and before... but with modern edge. There are so many illustrators who are amazing... it would really make Vogue stand apart.

I love the ideas of featuring designers like Tom Ford, Stella McCartney. I don't think Muicca Prada would do it. Margherita Missoni and her mother would be a lovely cover. Designers at work, I would love. A more candid, less stagey look would be intriguing.

Covers that were more Designed would be cool. A cover, art directed by some amazing stylist, designer or photographer, new every month, but without the usual US Vogue constraints. Trying to look less like Us Weekly, please!

I totally agree! I refrain from buying US Vogue , unless it's free which i get at work. I buy Vogue ITALIA, UK , Espana because they actually show fashion and mostly fashion like it should be. Vogue USA gears towards celebrity almost always and it's rather pitiful b/c it stears away from the intended usage.

I think Vogue should start blending models and classy actresses, like British and Australian Vogue do. I don't think it would hurt sales; if anything I think it would make Vogue stand out from the pack. Fashion people b*tch and moan about how there are no supermodels anymore, but yet they never put models on the covers!! Gisele came along when models still got the cover of magazines at times, so if Vogue doesn't at least put the big name models like Gemma, Daria, Kate or Gisele on the cover, then of course people won't care who models are.

To Aquamis, from your post I can see, that you like rumours, especially this, which are untrue (this thing about Nicole Kidman) Maybe you should go back and read some new InTouch or National Esquair and do not post your opinions here...

Models should be on the cover, which is obvious, but actresses like Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman should from time to time on the cover.

I believe that they should vary between celebs, models, illustrations.

SHOULD
Nicole Kidman
Kristin Scott Thomas
Vanessa Paradis
Mischa Barton
Camilla Belle
Selma Blair

NOT
Paris Hilton
Lindsay Lohan
Jessica Simpson
Britney
Christina Aguilera
