I'm not sure how to feel about this. Meisel's photo is much more interesting than Sadli's and I'm glad it's not Sorrenti again, but I'm not sure if it works as a cover. It feels more like an outtake or something you would use for a supplement. If they had swapped the outfits and put Ella in Chanel, I would choose Karim’s image instead.

As much as I love Meisel, the cover is not very Vogue Paris/France.
It could have been a VI cover.
It shows again the lack of identity…

Wow, love all the new elements here. Jeanne scoring a Meisel cover (wish she had under Franca's days), and Alastair working with him. I don't know if this is Alastair's first time as his fashion editor. Also love Sadli's cover (Ella 😍, this year's model) and ed. A cast full of real fashion models! Claire really cares about the making of this magazine. Just tell me if Meisel will make at the same time the Italian Vogue cover story as the last year?!

^ Clearly an attempt to reproduce the recent M editorial in NY also with Lulu and Awar, but the taste level is not there.

Lovely close-up of Jeanne by Meisel, but I also feel a bit uneasy about seeing a profile shot as a cover, at least without eye contact from the model. I think this is Alastair's first collaboration with SM, unless I'm missing an ad they worked on together? He and Claire must be feeling themselves so much after managing to wrangle Meisel for one of their covers!

On a somewhat related note, Meisel's feature must be one of several shoots Mary Howard mentioned in a recent interview that I read; she also specifically mentioned a VI shoot shot at Red Hook harbour, which would seem to indicate that Meisel could also shoot their September issue (or another month). Only thing is that said shoot might be with another photographer (Raf Pavarotti?) if it took place outside. We know Steven doesn't like to step outside
