Vogue France September 2025 : Jeanne Cadieu by Steven Meisel & Ella McCutheon by Karim Sadli

I love both covers. But I wouldn't have another photographer share the newsstands with the great Meisel.

Honestly, I love the exclusivity of the subscribers-only cover, which also happens to be the superior one .
Idk if it's still a thing with other magazines, but it used to be everywhere about 10 years ago.
I was about to write, I get why the standard cover was chosen (to appeal to younger people, I guess), but then I realized what the subcribers' cover is doing .

Meisel's cover screams Vogue Italia under Franca, but it's not suited to Vogue France.

The second cover by Sadli I can do without, it's a good image for inside but not for a cover.

The editorial is... A MESS hahahaah WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???? They picked some leftovers from 7 shoots and brought them together??? It's soooo lackluster my gosh.

I do not think that is the full Sadli fashion editorial. It does look like some shots will be good and others not good.

I love the staircase photo, it's so beautiful. One of the best images he has done in the last decade. Grandpa still has it when he bothers. Hard to believe it comes from the man responsible for the last D&G campaign with Mona and Vittoria.

Wow, something decent for Vogue France. Meisel's editorial is very Sozzani, and I really like it, even more than the one from September last year with Vivienne Rohner

Subscriber covers have always seemed lazy to me. Of course, they're a special incentive to subscribe to the magazine, but imo magazines with subscriber covers put less effort into selecting both the newsstand and subscriber cover. Usually we end up with two mediocre covers versus one strong cover.

I personally do not think that is the case here as both are great covers.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I'd say they're both fine, even serviceable, covers but great? Not in my opinion, but these covers aren't even an example of what I was complaining about.

Bar is low that we are finding these impressive. Meisel’s feels extremely dated even if well shot. Karim’s feels extremely trying hard to be cool. As someone mentioned the Juergen go see refs are blatant and fell so flat in Karim’s iteration. How these work also as dual covers makes literally no sense. Wtf is happening lmaoo.
