Vogue Italia July 2013 : 25 Years of Fashion by Steven Meisel

No magazine that celebrates 25 years of fashion, you can forget Kate Moss

I find it refreshing that Vogue Italia is one magazine that Kate Moss hasn't managed to dominate at some point during her career. For sure, she's appeared in editorials over the years, but it hasn't been a case of seeing her on the cover several times a year. It was Linda Evangelista who ruled the world of Vogue Italia for a while.

So to go OT, but what exactly happened between Meisel and Kate?

There's not new editorial shot by Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia July 2013 issue. There's 140 page collection of his iconic images!

Disappointing to say the least..

That's just lazy. If they wanted to compile Meisel's "iconic images" they could've put it in a book. What a disappointment for a 25th anniversary issue.

This isn't the 25 years of fashion issue - it's the 25 years of Meisel issue. I mean, really, now?

Because I've bought so many issues of the magazine since 1991, looking at these images, it's like an emotional connection to so many memories of what I was doing the day I first saw them.

if these picks were chosen by Meisel himself he seems to favor shoots with Sasha, Snejana, Daria, Karen, Linda, and Meghan the most

Fantastic collection of Steven's best works. I need to get my hands on this issue as soon as possible.

I feared that there wouldn't be any main fashion editorial.

On one hand there's nothing that exciting about a collection of images that have already been published (especially because only Meisel's work ended up being included, which is a bit of a diss to Roversi, Lindbergh etc. :innocent:).

On the other hand I feel like this issue could be something really great to look over in years to come. I mean most of the images included here are pretty iconic to say the least.
